Both Darling Husband and I have our own Facebooks and I’m the only one to have an Instagram. I like catching up with all my friends and seeing what people are up to. I also use facebook for my work; helping with their page, so I have to use it for that

I get on both FB and IG a couple times a day. Mostly out of boredom. I post pics of my kid every once in a while for our families who live out of the area.

I get the facebook inferiority thing–SO many girls from my high school are still BFFs and constantly post pictures hanging out together. I’m not in close contact with anyone from high school so it always makes me feel like sort of a loser (which I get doesn’t make sense because I don’t even want to be friends with any of them!).

I like Instagram because there’s less pressure to follow or follow back certain people. On facebook it’s like “a thing” if you unfriend someone. I post more pictures on Instagram because I feel self conscious posting something small or silly on facebook.

I mostly use Facebook for crowdsourcing questions and major announcements (like our engagement).

oliviakatherine:  I don’t have instagram but I have FB. My bf just got rid of his because he hates social media, he likes his privacy. I barely get on mine, I don’t really know why I am there anymore. I connect with my friends from Europe and my grandparents but that is about it.

Social media is just drama. Everyone paints their lives so happily with pictures and statuses and it is easy to get lost in this imaginary world.

Fiance and I have our own FB accounts. I have an Instragram account but he doesn’t. I only have FB now to keep in touch with some family I have in Mexico and a few others I like to see. For the most part I would delete my FB because it’s gotten to be too much Too Much Information and a personal journal for alot of people.  I like Instagram more.  I feel it’s less drama because it’s just pictures.

I get a few times a day but I don’t post everyday. (insta.)

Our relationship has never had issues because we have social media accounts.

If you feel there is no need for it, then just delete it. Don’t worry about what others will say.

I haven’t had facebook in years. I found it to be uncessary and depressing in many ways. I got tired of all the bragging, ranting etc. I don’t care that you are on vacation for the 6th time the year and I really don’t care that you fought with your boyfriend, best friend, woman in front of you on the grocery line. I also feel like a ton of drama stems from facebook. I like to keep my life private and keep the special moments between me and the people who really matter.

Instagram I do have but I am getting tired of all the same pictures being posted. The bragging again and the stupid, vulgar meme’s about sex and whatnot. I am sick of selfies and even more sick of half naked ones.

I guess I am not a fan of social media. It takes the joy out of life when eveything is a show for strangers.

oliviakatherine:  I don’t blame your Darling Husband for feeling that way! His way of thinking sounds so much like mine. People are overexposing so much and even exploiting their children on social media for a few likes. It’s really gross.

I have both. I think it comes down to setting boundaries, and keeping a short leash on whom you add on it. Social media is a reflection of your social life; it magnifies what is already there. I have zero issues with either because I thankfully do not have dramatic people added (well except my mom ;] ). It’s a great tool to connect with my family and friends whom I do not get to see very much as I live out of state. And neing in the tech field, it’s a fabulous one-stop-shop for me – I get all my news and field-related tidbits from it. I really enjoy social media.

Fiance doesn’t use either, but. I prefer IG. Facebook seems dull now, but it could be because creeping is harder. There are more, privacy settings, etc. also, I find FB is where people go,to brag so it’s not as active but IG is random.

I have facebook and check it probably once a day (out of boredom more than anything else). I never post- except major news updates (engaged etc) and holiday and travel photos for my family to see. Most of my friends are the same, they rarely post except for major news. We all use it more as a tool to message each other privately/ keep in touch with friends abroad etc. I like it for those reasons but I know what you mean about some people who post excessively and seem to live for social media. Those people who post all the time about trivial things and selfies etc I usually delete unless they are a family member or something!

oliviakatherine:  Why would you want these people in your social circle?? That is the problem, IMO. If you want to appease them but keep your sanity, you can also just hide them on FB so you don’t see their posts… I’m sorry you have to deal with people like that. I can see why you’d avoid FB. It can be great if you curate it right, is all. Good luck!
