Yes you read that right. I can’t believe how crazy this has made me!!
I got married last May and went back and forth for almost a year on whether I wanted to sell my dress or not. We got pregnant in November and I thought ok now I should definitely sell the dress and we can use the money towards the baby! So I put it on Ebay and about a month or so later a nice girl sent me an email and we negotiated a price. Literally within 15 min of her first email she had bought the dress. It was so fast!!
So this was about a month ago and ever since then I’ve been so upset!! I couldn’t bear to be the one to ship it off so I had my husband do it. After he shipped it I was so sad realizing that the dress was gone forever. I guess I just never realized how much it meant to me until it was gone.
So last Saturday I emailed the girl I sold it to and told her how I felt. I pretty much knew it was a shot in the dark but I said if she was willing to sell it back to me after her wedding I would definitely buy it back from her. Well she just wrote me back this morning and told me she was looking at another dress now and was about to put it up for sale!! How crazy is that!
So she sold the dress back to me! I honestly feel like the biggest idiot ever. I just really had no idea how sentimental I was over the dress until it wasn’t mine anymore!
Moral of the story…DO NOT SELL YOUR DRESS if you have any doubt at all! I definitely had doubts before and I should have listened to them. If you think at all that you would like to look at your dress, try it on or have a future daughter or daughter in law try it on just keep it!! Trust me it’s not worth it!!
I can’t believe that she’s mine again!!!! I’m so happy!

Wow, that’s an awesome story haha, did you pay more than you sold it for?

@crh1729: no I actually ended up making $200 off of this whole crazy situation! I have no idea how I managed to do that! lol I sold it to her for $800 and I offered $600 when we emailed back and forth about it totally not expecting her to take it but she did! I think she wanted that other dress so bad that she just wanted to take what she could get.

wow, crazy, but very entertaining story! glad it worked out for you. the best part is that you made $200!! i have always planning to sell my dress, but let me tell you, for the whole week after my wedding day, it was hanging in plain view in my hotel room and i would just stare at it so longingly. i know i will have a hard time letting it go, but i also know it will be what i have to do.

glad it worked out 🙂 I dont plan on selling mine because I want my future kids to have the option if they want it or to use a piece of it or something because I wish I could do that with my mothers but she couldnt afford to have it preserved (we are hoping we can take some of the fabric to wrap my bouquet at least!)
