I’ve always been pretty set on being able to solder an e-ring and a wedding ring, but a lot of the designs I find myself gravitating towards do not allow for bands to sit flush (see CvB design below as an example). Is there a way to still solder a band with a gap? Or is that somehow destructive to the design? I know some of you bees are pretty knowledgeable on this sort of thing!

initially, i didn’t like the gap. when i told the jeweler, he said the only way remove the gap is to notch out part of the ering then solder. i didn’t want to notch out the ering and i want to be able to wear them separately. i got used to the gap and now love it.
and when DS was born, i stopped wearing my ering because i scratched him a few times. i would hate for it to be all or nothing.

ajillity81 : Hmm… yeah, I don’t love the idea of notching the e-ring, either. Thanks for the input!

I have my e-ring and band soldered with a gap and there was no notch needed. The jeweler just put in three pieces around the back of the ring. I will try and upload some pics.
