@fortheloveofsoccer:  you should post a picture of your ring! Honestly nobody can tell you what to do about choosing a halo or a solitaire. Go for what makes you happy. As long as your Fiance is ok with changing it and you can afford it, then it’s no problem. I personally usually prefer solitaires, though I’ve seen some gorgeous halos. Maybe if you post a picture of your ring and also the halo you like you can get better advice.

@fortheloveofsoccer:  Oh my word this ring is amazing …..  You have a tough decision to make.”..  I’m a solitare girl myself so will be bias a little for the halo, however I’ve seen many halo designs that have made me wish I had one…… Decisions decisions… What’s a girl to do… No matter which way you go that rock is stunning 🙂

@fortheloveofsoccer:  Keep the solitaire and dress it up with blingy wedding bands. Halos can be gorgeous and are very popular right now, but a solitaire is a classic forever.

@fortheloveofsoccer:  I would keep the solitaire. It’s beautiful.

Regarding the first ring though, when you said “had a 10k price tag attached” do you literally mean that’s what the price tag said, or did you ask about it and the sales person told you they would sell it to you for 10k? Because if it was from the tag, that doesn’t mean that’s what it would cost. I worked in the industry and the tags are always inflated. Regardless though, good for you for being mature and responsible, and deciding that’s too much for a piece of jewelry. Now you have a beautiful diamond with a story behind it at a great price. Wins all around!!

Your solitaire is gorgeous. I love both solitaires and halos and I could never choose just one. My solution was to choose both. My SO and I went ring shopping about 6 weeks ago and we decided on a solitaire for my e-ring, and in a few years (if I still want one) I will get a halo RHR – best of both worlds! Smile

Before we went ring looking I was set on halos & pear. I ended up with a round solitaire on a thin Simon G band covered in micropave. In other words…I ended up with nothing like I thought I would!

I looooved Tacori too! But I tried on quite a few and they just weren’t me once on my finger. Which one really speaks to you? I had an “event” occur around my ring & I’m actually on my 2nd. So please go with your heart! Are you trying to talk yourself out of the halo because of the tag?

I’m from the “dress it up” camp… Halos are very “right now”. I love them but can’t see myself loving them ten years from now. Solitaires are classic and will never go out of style!

@fortheloveofsoccer:  “Our original plan was to take the centre diamond and put it in a halo, but the more we look at this ring, the more we love it.”

Maybe give it some time-as much as you might regret not having a halo you could have the same situation in reverse should you get one! Another thing to consider is the type of wedding band you want before you go making changes. I’m a sucker for a solitaire myself, your ring is beautiful! 🙂
