timely post! I am wedding band shopping for my solitaire right now

thanks y’all for sharing your photos!

I like the plain look 🙂 For those who did the plain band- it looks like you got the same width band as the e-ring right?  I am looking for a 2mm 18kt yellow gold wedding band

My vote is on a sparkly band! I had mine made so the diamonds are the same width as the engagement ring, it is a shared prong 3/4 eternity.

petitenoonie:  both ering and wedding band are 2mm wide. I think the diamonds are about 3 points each… but I am not sure

I prefer the look of a plain band for myself, but I can definitely appreciate the extra bling of an eternity band. Maybe I’ll ask for a diamond band for an anniversary one day.

Wedding band is 2mm, and e-ring is just under 2mm (1.8 I think?)

I’m at work, so it’s not the best pic, but I went with the plain band after lots of debating, and I’m so glad I did.

Gorgeous rings! Love me a traditional solitaire 🙂

Here’s my solitaire engagement ring with a pave diamond wedding band.

I prefer plain(ish) because they last many lifetimes with zero maintenance or worries. A pave or shared setting band needs to be babied more, more potential issues. One day I’d like both though! A shared setting which can be a RHR or add bling to wedding set, mood depending.

I went with a chubs 4mm band with a few scattered gypsy set diamonds.

Yes absolutely .The timeless plain  wedding band and add an ‘eternity ring later . Don’t gild the lily with  beautiful solitaires, especially when  set classically like  that  .

I got a diamond wedding band to match my solitaire.

Here is a plain band I tried out. A bit too wide for my liking

Wow amazing rings!!

I have a 1ct solitaire ring size 8.5

currently I wear it with a .25ct shared prong diamond band. I will also be having made a etoile style band to sit in the set as well as I like the versatility. I love that a solitare will never go out of style they are so classy!!

I originally wanted a plain band because I thought that was a more timeless choice and I’m generally not a ‘showy’ sort of person. I tried on every shape and width of plain band in the shop and none seemed to suit my solitaire so I tried on a sparkly band mostly because I was out of other options and I loved it!

I think it fits well with my engagement ring – complimenting rather than competing with it. Also, since it’s a narrow band it doesn’t close the door on a more substantial eternity ring in the future.
