Hey eveyone yes im new kinda been lurking a bit lol mrpicklesbaby bought me my engagment ring its a zales piece we have had it for a while. well do to some medical reasons i lost some weight wich made my ring become to big for me. So we went to helzberg since the zales in our mall is going out of buisness so they call me and say me ring was back in and i look at it something didnt look right so a couple days later had the ring scoped at a diff jeweler and one diamond had crack in it the crown was cracked and diamonds were crooked it was a mess they had it in and out of there jeweler 3 times and each time it came back worse and they would not replace or offer a trade on my ring. sigh……..
so now no jeweler will fix it because so much wrong for liability issues anywho so kays is offering us 1200 for a trade we have a .66 certified round (brilliant cut) solitare picked out but i was wondering if any other ladies have a solitare 1/2 carat to about 1 carat round solitare what they look like with a band wrap or whatever especially if you have ring size around mine 5-5.5 range. I am just trying to gage what it would look like and my options are since we are getting the trade kinda sad to have to trade my ring in but got plenty else to do besides being in and out of the jeweler lol. 😛 the one im trading is a quad setting ppf ring. thank you

so sorry to hear about your ring problems! Did you have any sort of insurance on the ring?
To your question, my ring size is just under 5, and my solitare is .80. I have long, skinny fingers (piano players hands! ha) I don’t plan on getting a band wrap, so I can’t help there, but here is it with the likely the wedding band I will get:

I am a size 5. I have a .66 (altho i want bigger ) everone says looks HUGE
and we bought the stone at a different place then my setting a local jeweler and it was $1200. If we had gotten a stone where we bought the setting it was $3500!
I cant take pix that don’t come out blurry:( but it is an idea cut and has extra facets so it’s extremely sparkly!

Oh my god, what a nightmare! I’ve heard some really bad things about Zales. Once they send it off to their jewelers, bad things have happened, such as stone swapping. I’m so sorry that happened to you 🙁
Luckily, the round brilliant loooks largest of all the diamond cuts. Mine is one carat and looks HUGE. I feel like a half carat would still look pretty big. I think .66 would look quite large. I think if you pick a setting with a thin band, it really makes the round pop.
Here’s a link to a post about my ering- to see an idea of how it looks.
My promise ring and engagement ring!

My center stone is 0.59 carat and though it’s not a solitaire, it looks beautiful and not small at all. Here is a picture of my e-ring and wedding band…sorry it’s the only one I have hear at work. you might be able to get an idea of the scale because a wrap would look similar to the side-stones I have. My ring size is 5.75.
