- Wedding: October 2012
I have never been a crafter in my life – I like to paint, but my primary artistic ventures involve the art of Language (literature), so all of this DIY wedding stuff was new to me, but I feel like I’ve done alright! Since I’m just 25 (eeeee!!) Days out from the wedding, thought I’d share some of the things I’ve made! My wedding is rustic, and its at a ranch in the middle of the woods (for your imaginings!) and will be mostly outside/under a pavilion.
My thumbprint tree. Cost: free. I already owned all of the supplies.
One of the cookie jars for my Cookie bar.
Burlap $3.00. Lace $5.00. Jars $30.00. Already had the ribbon.
Ignore the sloppy handwriting, the hello, and the creature. Fiance was having fun.
DIY Chalkboard for ceremony space.
Chalkboard paint $5.00. Ivory Paint $3.00. Old Mirror at Goodwill: $4.00.
I made these from pinterest inspiration, and they are going to be dangled behind the head table (which is at the edge of the pavillion, overlooking a small grassy area). I made 27 of these in different sizes. Took two days, but I really like them.
Embroidery hoops $30.00 (more than I expected). Ribbon $4.00. Twine $3.00. Lace from one old curtain FREE.
Part of my centerpiece, I’ve made 27 of these (27 is a recurring number unintentionally, its the date of the wedding, I wound up making 27 of these, and 27 of the lace hoops… coincident completely.) These will have big bunches of babies breath in them. Took a few hours to complete these.
Jars $20.00. Twine $3.00. Ribbon $4.00.
Another part of my centerpieces, double sided photos, oil, mason jars, and twine.
Jars $20.00. Photo Paper FREE (already had it and wasn’t going to use it because its not very great quality). Twine Free, leftover. Oil: estimated at about $20.00. (tried to use water with bad results).
My overall centerpiece will be these three:
(Only, it will be with a ton more babies breath, which will be alive. Ribbons will be straight, and they will be on a 1″ thick piece of wood that Future Father-In-Law is working on currently, so that part of the centerpiece is FREE!)
One of my bunting signs, this took forever and was killer on my back!! I still have to make a few more signs, a ‘thank you’ sign, ‘Cookie Bar’ sign, and “Love is Sweet” for the cake table.
Burlap $6.00 (2 yards). Paint FREE (already had it). Stencils $5.00. Twine $3.00.
How do you think I’m doing so far?
