I rarealy walk my dogs in the morning. I usually give them breakfast and let them out in the backyard while I finish getting ready. Some mornings when it’s super nice out and I have some extra time I will take them for a little walk around the block though. Today was one of those days.
So I’m walking on the sidewalk with my two little dogs (one is 9lbs, the other is around 30lbs), thinking how it’s a beautiful morning and how it’s shaping up to be a great weekend, and how fabulous my new jeans look (bright blue, cropped, skinnies if you’re interested lol) when my smallest dog turned the corner and barks. Just once, but she’s half yorkie so it’s not unusual for her to make noise. Then as I turned the corner I saw a lady probably in her late 50’s walking towards me. Here I am thinking that I will have the usual situation where I apologize to someone and make a joke about how she seems to think she’s a big dog, then talk about the weather and go about my day. Nope. This happened:
Lady: “Wtf, get your f’ing stupid dog away from me”
Me: *little stunned* “Omg, I’m sorry, she gets really excited when she sees new people”
Lady: “Do I look like I f’ing care! I have two huskies at home and if your pathetic dogs come near me again, I’ll set my real dogs after them and they will f’ing destroy them”
Me: *seriously wanting to let loose on this lady but a little unsure about her craziness* “Wow, you’re pleasant”
Lady: “F you”
Me…. nothing. No more words. I was in shock. My dogs were on a leash and neither one of them were anywhere near her, we were just on the same sidewalk as her. In a very pet friendly neighbourhood.
Not really what anyone wants to deal with at 6am on a Friday morning.

@orchidaloha: Oh, my dear sweet Lord, that is absolutely horrible! I am so sorry that happened to you. I would have been terrified. She actually sounds crazy and dangerous and I hope you never run into her again.
Try not to let that ruin the rest of your day. Can you imagine what a miserable, dark, creepy soul she must be at all times? I would hate to be that type of person – her having to live with herself is her worst punishment and your revenge – try to think of it that way.
Also – this is my belief: when the universe sends something very negative to you, something very wonderful is just on the horizon to balance things out. So you should have a fabulous weekend to make up for it.

@Sunfire: Thanks lady! I was scared. I didn’t realize until I got home and told my guy about it just how freaked out I was… I was shaking and I gave my little furbabies an extra kiss before I left for work.
I did think about it on the way to work though and thought about how unhappy her life must be!
Let’s hope that’s true!! I do have a great weekend planned and I’m super excited and the weather is amazing!

@orchidaloha: WOW! ((((HUGS!)))) Don’t let that miserable person make your day bad. I’m sure she has her own issues going on and I’m sure it wasn’t personal.

@orchidaloha: Aw, I’m sorry. What a horrid lady. Hopefully she was just having a bad morning and will later realize it and be very ashamed that she took it out on you.
Or, she’s just a horrid, rude person. If you see her again, cross the street to avoid her. She may be the type that just looks for reasons to be aggressive with other people.

@orchidaloha: Eh, some people are crazy. Shake it off and have that wonderful day/weekend you were thinking about!
P.S. Clearly your Yorkie is a good judge of character 😉

Your way of thinking is similar to mine…whens someone is that overtly rude for no reason I always think to myself “if this is the worst thing to happen to you today, you should actually be pretty thankful”.
Some people are just ignorant.
I have to say I’m surprised she has dogs though….in my experience dog owners are a lot more tolerant about that sort of thing, because we’ve all been in situations where our dogs misbehave.

@orchidaloha: Wow, that’s insane! Whatever her issue, there’s no need to take it out on you! People need to chill out! It’s just like the major road rage I saw the other day where a guy in a truck blocked off a car just so he could scream and yell at him. There’s no need!

Wow. My dog is usally OFF leash (with a shock collar on) and he will wiggle up to my neighbours and usually they just pet him. Never had a reaction like that!
It must suck hating life to much. So much energy wasted.

Someone got out on the wrong side of the bed!!

Sounds like someone is getting any at home. Mean people suck. Try not to let her ruin your day.

@orchidaloha: What a B! Hopefully your day improves from here! Don’t let her rain on your parade 🙂

Holy crap! I wouldn’t have been able to contain myself from telling that crazy bitch to go get laid so she’d have something to smile about. Btw your jeans sound super cute! Lol

@orchidaloha: Wow you’re so pleasantly nice, I think I’d be much more spiteful if I was in your position and call her dogs in to authorities as threatening and vicious lol.

@housebee: It crossed my mind! If I see her again and if I see any sign of her being aggressive with her dogs or if the dogs seem aggressive I will call her in.
@MsSparklyBee: Honestly, normally I have no issue with saying anything to anyone but there was something about this lady and I just didn’t want to stoop down to her level. I almost think she would have wanted that and I didn’t want to give her that satisfaction.
