Pretty sure our little guy is a pit-mix.  A friend picked him up off the street when he was just a few weeks old!  He is the most slobbery dog I’ve ever seen, and somehow, he’s cute about it.  πŸ™‚

We had a boxer/pit mix at my parents house and she was such a sweet heart. Here is our lab, Mendel, all curled up next to the couch.

We’re not sure what our family dog is – bro insists he’s a lab. But he’s sooo a pit bull, right?

I just took my dog to the dog park last weekend and someone was there with a litter of five pit bull puppies. They were sooooo cute and sweet!! They played really nicely with my dog. I kept pulling them into my lap, and they were so friendly and cuddly! Right now I live in an apartment that’s too small for a dog that size, but I would totally get a pit when Fiance and I buy a house!

Thanks Lovebird!  He’s been the most awesome dog – just full of personality (and messes).  Your guy is pretty adorable too.  πŸ™‚

I think the pits I’ve seen here and elsewhere (mostly Staffordshire terriers) are about the cutest dogs out there.  I just hate that they’ve got such a bad rap.

Aw! Pitbulls have such cute, silly faces. Love it.  When Fiance and I get a dog (probably not till a few years from now), we are so getting a pit.  I think they’re adorable and, having seen what a large percentage of the dogs in the shelters I’ve worked at are pits, I really want to be part of the solution to that problem! Most of the pitbulls I’ve interacted with have been nothing but sweet, goofy, playful little babies.

Awww! I love me some bullies! We adopted Clio at our local shelter last July and she has been the BEST dog. She is an American Bulldog/Staffy mix (we had her DNA tested for insurance reasons). I HATE the looks we get, the bad rap, etc, but I think she is a great breed ambassador! SUPER smart, great w kids (although always supervised), friendly and cuddly!

@Rocktsrgn Our dog looks so much like yours.  We know he’s a pit with lab mixed but a lot of people stop us and ask if he’s a rhodesian ridgeback.  Ours is about to turn 4 and he’d never been slobbery but just in the past few months started drooling when he smelled good food.  I’d never seen him do it before and now he does it all the time.
