Sorry to hear you’re having a rough time!  I know weighing reality with expectations can be really hard…is there any way you can just have a small civil ceremony, and then plan a bigger reception as a vow renewal when there’s more money coming in?

Regardless of whether your wedding comes off the way you want it to (and I hear you, it sucks not to be able to do what you’ve dreamed of doing), at least it sounds like you can count on the love and support of your fiance, and that relationship is what’s most important!

Aw, so sorry to hear that your finances changed so close to your wedding date, but please remember… You don’t need a bunch of money, or a snazzy venue, or a catered meal, a DJ, fancy flowers or an expensive dress to get married. All you really need is the love you two share, $20-$50 for a license and a few witnesses.

I know you wanted and planned to have a wedding celebration, but sometimes we cannot have everything we want and if you and your Fiance love one another and want to be married, then I just can’t see a civil ceremony or a small church ceremony as settling.

Best of luck to you!
