Hi Bees! I want to order my veil, but I can’t decide what direction I should take. My dress has no train, so I wasn’t sure if a cathedral veil would look odd. I also have a fairly busy cascading bouquet, so I thought perhaps I should keep the veil simple. I’ve found a few veils that I think might work, but I definitely would appreciate feedback. I’m wearing my hair in a loose updo, with some babies breath to go where the veil will be inserted.
Here is a picture of my dress, as well as the different veil designs I am contemplating.
Veil 1 (I thought that perhaps the design being there would make a better transition between dress and veil)
Veil 2 (I think perhaps the scallops might look silly without a train on my dress to mimic the design)
Veil 3 (This was originally what I thought I wanted. But I feel like this looks too plain with all that space and the raw edge)
Veil 4 (This is the very simple, but I think it might be the best, even though I’d love a train)
For some reason there is no add poll option!!

I think one that trails just a foot or so behind you would be nice. It would give you a little train without the blank space you’re concerned about! I think any sort of edging that you like would be just fine, your dress doesn’t really preclude any style!

I love veil 4. My veil was very similar and I loved that it just sort of blended into the bottom of my dress. I love the way it looks in pictures.

I have tried on cathedral length veils on dresses with no train and was surprised at how beautiful and stunning they look, when I originally thought they would look odd. It really adds that train effect even if there isn’t one on your dress. So if you really want a long veil I think it will look beautiful! And I LOVE the lace edged veils, I think they would look great with your dress!

#4 for sure. Super elegant and it would look lovely with your dress.

I like the first, is there a way you can try on them in person with your dress to help you decide what you think looks best before you order? otherwise just make sure you could exchange it just in case.

I personally love veil 1 it is beautiful!

I love #4 or #1. I don’t think it would look odd even without having a train on your dress but I do think chapel length veil would suit it best.

I think you should look here: https://www.etsy.com/ru/shop/VeilsofArt You will get a professional advice and designer will make your own veil in accordance with your dress and other accessories!

try a chapel length veil! a chapel length has a train, but it’s not quite as long as a cathedral train (think of it as Cathedral Light). That way you have the train you want, but it’s not too much negative space behind your dress 🙂

I ended up buying a super cheap, very long cathedral veil. I figured that if I don’t like it I have enough time to buy something new.

true! i’m also guessing that if it was super cheap than it’s just raw edged tulle? because if it comes and you love it, but sitll find it too long, you (or your seamstress) can easily take a pair of scissors to it to shorten it a bit 🙂 update us with pics when it arrives!
