Ohhhh Bellenga….as an Irish girl by birth but a Southern girl in my heart….I would definitely choose the antebellum house. I am a "North and South" fanatic (thanks Nana!) and I just love the swooney romanticness of it (ok I know…they are not real words…)….sigh….

I think when you have a home like that in the family, it’s hard to imagine doing it anywhere else, especially in light of the fact that you want an intimate affair!

ahhhh…love SRB too! the clubhouse is gorgeus!!! (now that I looked at it…aaaaahhhh) such a tough decision!!! Ohhhhh the thought of you & T walking home is super dreamy….sigh…..I have friends that live in a beautiful subdivision outside Charleston with a beautiful clubhouse and always think it would make for exquisite pictures!!! Okay let me put this in "Ally" language for you….my 2 dream venues are Boone Hall Plantation in Charleston and South Fork Ranch in Plano….I would choose BHP even though it is an uber-connecting flight for everyone (hello Charlotte airport) but yes the clubhouse is exquisite and ooooohhhh…the walking home together hand-in-had is bringing tears….*edit* I know we all worry about travel for family…but it comes down to what you & T are most happiest with….your loved ones won’t care how far they have to travel…they’ll get there anyways.

Okay…had to check back in with you….wherever you choose is going to be amazing right….sooo….I know for me…the question would be….if he & I had a few hours to kill…and maybe a glass of wine or two….where would we prefer to be…I spend…umm..wayyy too much time imagining…where we would be…for rehearsal…for ceremony…etc….regardless of travel and all that…where do you in your heart imagine…?
Sorry for the dot dot dots you are always so eloquent & lovely in your posts it is yikes difficult almost to respond but I know wherever you choose it will be stunning!!!

I chose the restaraunt … let work for you guys, more time for you just to relax and enjoy each and every once of your guests. But anywhere you do it, it will be perfect 🙂

My Fi is from Marietta, and I think Canoe is a beautiful spot for a wedding. If we were getting married in Atlantra I’d try to have it there. Have you thought about the Piedmont Room at Park Tavern? FI’s brother got married there in 2007 and it was AMAZING! They had the ceremony/reception in the same space. There’s a HUGE glass window that overlooks downtown. It was breathtaking!

My vote is for the family home instinctively is for the family home…but of couse logistically, it might not be easiest. Will you need to rent everything from cutlery to tables? Are there enough bathrooms? But I think it would be worth any hassle…*sigh*

I think your family home would be a great personal touch, especially if you’re happy to have to choose and bring in everything. Or else, I’d go with the Canoe restaurant because it looks pretty.

I’m sure whatever you choose will be lovely regardless. Good luck!
