… it can sometimes be wonderful!
When I was home visiting for Easter, my mom pulled out her Great-grandma’s ring she had told me about previously. It’s an antique marquise style sapphire and diamond ring (mainly sapphire with a few teeny diamond accents) that mom has had since my Great-great-grandma passed but can’t wear any more bc G-G-Gma had tiny fingers!
I don’t remember G-G-Gma, but we do have a picture of the five generations with her holding me when I was an infant, but the ring is already so special to me. When mom brought it out, I popped it right on my hand and it fits on my right hand ring finger like it was made for me!
So no, I don’t have a proposal, a deadline for one, a deposit on a dress or a venue but… I do have my something borrowed, blue, and old already picked out!
😀 This is that rare occasion all the waiting pressure from my family is actually a fun thing!

Aww that’s so sweet! There’s just something about family rings that is so special.
And the ubiquitous request: Post pictures! I wanna see it, and I’m sure I’m not the only one!

@Kant: I agree! Would love to see this special ring. 🙂

Sounds gorgeous! I definitely want to see too. And no worries, my mom drug me to David’s Bridal before Fiance and I even bought a ring.

I’ll be sure to take pictures next time I’m visiting my parents! Thanks for the sweet words ladies.
And @KatyElle: Don’t worry, I see the ring as a sweet gesture from my mom, completely separate from my relationship “timeline” with my SO. She is having a much more difficult time with the “waiting” than I ever expected though!
