So I am in my 3rd year of undergrad (if you count the tech college I went to 8 years ago I have 4 and a half years under my belt), I seriously am having the hardest time staying motivated. I have an assignment I HAVE to complete today, and I can not just bring myself to do it. I have two part time jobs, full time college, and a wedding to plan. The last thing I want to do is homework on my only day off.
I am normally pretty motivated, and have a 3.5 g.p.a. The other problem is my career choice: Social Work, really intense long writing assignments with little time to prepare them!
My question is how do you other collegebees do it?
(lol I do realize being on the weddingbee when I should be doing my assingment is counterproductive)

You have a lot on your plate, that’s for sure. With my non-traditional students, I tell them it’s a matter of time management. Commit to your studies, designate times to do your school work and STICK to it. Do the same with the wedding planning. Your education is important and is a major investment in your future. Do NOT give up!

I’m in almost exactly the same situation–finishing up my 3rd year of my B. S. in psychology. I have real problems with motivation, too. My solution is to do homework with Fiance. It forces us both to work so that we can be done and focu on each other. 🙂 Good luck! I know it’s hard, but we can do this.

I’m just now finishing up my MA and certainly had times like that! I had a newborn to 3 year old while in school, worked two jobs, and moved across the country for FI’s job, so I know how intense it can be. My suggestion is to knock it out as soon as possible. Create a schedule with time designated to work on homework so that you force yourself to sit down and just do it! Think about all the anxiety and time spent worrying on the project, when you could already be done with it!
I know that feels like crappy advice but if you can try to do that for one week just to see, I think you may be surprised.

I’m avoiding the last problem of my organic chemistry take home quiz as we speak. I’m no help lol.

My best friend is doing her masters in social work and is having the same issues :-). I think she survives by being obsessively Type A, frankly. She says she wishes she could turn that off sometimes, since she’s really overworked and could really use some time off!

Make a timeline to get things done. Not the due date but a day ahead if you can. Looknat your assignments and figure out what is a priority and what isn’t. Like his week I have a bio test, an artial review, an online post due tomrrow. Tuseday I have a post and wedsday I have my thesis due. My Plan, tonight study and a work on my thesis.!
Stay off the bee!
