Ok I have been using OPKs for all of 11 days. Today is CD21, which my iphone app (pink pad) has declared my O day. My cycles are still wonky, but they average out to be 33-35 days long.
I’ve been testing daily around 7pm, every day brings an obvious negative. The second line is always much lighter than the test line. I got a negative last night, and on a whim I test this morning with FMU around 9:30am, got a big fat negative. I tested again at 7:30pm this evening, and got this (sorry if pic is too big, no idea how to resize): Control line is on top, test line on bottom. This is the darkest the test line has ever been. Can someone please bring me to my senses (or confirm that maybe my uterus doesn’t hate me after all…)

This is what my OPKs look like just before I get a positive. It’s almost there, but the test line still isn’t as dark as the control line. I would test again in the morning and also tomorrow afternoon to make sure to catch your surge. I would also BD in case you are coming down from your surge. Some ladies have shorter surges so if you are only testing every 24 hours you may have had a clear positive earlier today or it could be coming soon. Good luck!

Unfortunately, that’s a negative – but I would say you’re getting very close to a positive so keep testing! Good luck! 🙂

That’s a negative, BUT, I would recommend getting a pack of digital OPK’s and test with that now. It’s SO close. A lot of bees don’t get true, full, 100% positives on Wondfo’s and have to use a digi to confirm. GL!

Negative. Mine always get dataker than the control line, a deep purple. I would recommend saving all of your OPK sticks from this cycle and putting them in order so you can learn what your negatives look like and what your positives(after you get one) looks like.

Thanks for the response ladies! I figured I was all wishful thinking. 🙂 I tested this morning at 6:00am, and we’re back to a full negative, with a super faint test line. :/ I think I will get some digital OPKs to have on hand. We did sex it up last night, so I don’t feel we completely wasted an opportunity.
Would it be beneficial for me to test more than once per day? This is my first cycle testing, and I got the 100pk from Amazon so I have no problem blowing through those babies haha. Any advice is appreciated!

i test once a day starting at CD8 and then I bump it to twice a day on CD12 or CD13 (O day was on CD16 last month).
i have a spreadsheed that i glue my sticks to after they are dry. that way i can see all of them together and figure out when it’s positive and now i have last months to compare this month to.

Rosworms- wow you are way more organized than I am! When you’re testing twice a day, what times are you testing? I know that in general the surge comes in the evening hours.

and btw, the best time to test is between 2 and 3 pm- when our hormones are at their highest, apparently.
(i know, it’s awkward to have to do it at work, I hide it up my sleeve to and from the washroom, and I bought the mid-stream tests for that reason)
