Seriously, NO OFFENSE to any of you who are doing this, its just something that i am having a hard time understanding. I understand that wedding fads go in and out of style just like jeans and phrases, but what is the deal with brides wearing feathers on their heads?
If you like the look, alright, but seriously, where did this come from? I dont understand why a bride would choose to wear something reminiscent of a headdress on her head during her wedding. Please, someone help me understand this!

@FluffysMama: Feathers remind me of retro 1920’s style, so I’d assume they had a retro theme for their wedding. Some of that stuff is really back in style right now.

You struck the nail on the head– it “came from” the fad of wearing headdresses. Wearing a head piece (be it a head band, a clip, a crown, etc.) that has feathers in it is no more or less “odd” than someone wearing beads, flowers, fabric, metal, or gems in their hair.
Personally, I can’t stand wearing something on my head– hats & veils drive my crazy, so I’m wearing 3 silk flowers that are attached to bobby pins, I tried a few that were made with feathers and pearls because I thought they were beautiful, but the feathers seemed to have the same problem as a traditional veil– when they moved, it tickled my ears, neck, etc. and it bothered me, so I went with something a little smaller that I wouldn’t notice.
It’s just a personal preference, some people want a veil, some want flowers, some want rhinestones, and some want feathers.
