Ok, I’ll play along! 🙂

New – my dress and shoes

Old – my grandpa’s wedding ring that I’ll wear on a chain around my neck

Blue – the flowers in my bouquet

Borrowed – I fretted about it for a while, but then I remembered that my mum had a hair band for her wedding. She made it herself, it’s beautiful and she said she would be happy to lend it to me.

Then I will also get a 6 pence for my shoe from one of my bridesmaids.

Maybe I will make someone give me a bobby pin?

I’m borrowing my mom’s pearl headpiece as well. I have to give it back though, so it will be borrowed. She wore it to her wedding in the 70’s and it was beautiful and timeless then and will be awesome now.

@nl: I think I’ll be able to survive it through the ceremony, but as soon as it’s over, I’ll put it somewhere else. 🙂

I was married a loooong time ago…32 years ago…but I forgot about the something borrowed Until just before the ceremony. My favorite aunt took off her diamond watch and clasped it on my wrist just before I walked down the aisle.  It was, at the time, the most extravagant piece of jewelry I had ever worn, and the memory of the gesture and how I felt wearing it, are special to this day.

I love stories of the borrowed being a grandmums earrings or bracelet.  If you don’t want it to show, maybe an anklet. I have also heard of a brooch pinned to the crinoline Or bouquet.
