I’m SURE this has been posted on the Bee before, but I thought it would be fun to start (again?):
So bees, what are your (post pictures!):
- Something old?
- Something new?
- Something borrowed?
- Something blue?
Mine (I think):
- Something old? My engagement ring and wedding band are both antiques/estate pieces. My e-ring is from the 1920s, my wedding band is from the 1910s. Neither are family heirlooms, but they’re gorgeous!
- Something new? My shoes are new! But also probably my earrings (haven’t picked them out yet) – No pictures yet!
- Something borrowed? My best friend since kindergarten got married almost 5 years ago, and she’s going to let me borrow her veil. I seriously almost cried when she offered. I am so touched! – No pictures yet!
- Something blue? My shoes!

I don’t have mine yet, but I’ve got the basis of them planned out. I have three mother figures in my life, my mom, my step mom, and my Future Mother-In-Law So I gave each of them one of them to pick out for me.
My Old: Is from my mom. It’s going to be a bracelet she wore to her high school grad and her wedding. Looks similar to this one
My New: is from my Future Mother-In-Law. Pretty sure it’s going to be the head piece I’m wearing (seeing as she already offered to buy it, but I don’t know if she’s counting it as her peice for me!)
I haven’t decided which of these two it will be
My something borrowed will be ‘from’ my step mother, who passed away last summer. I will be borrowing her wedding rings, the engagement ring was my dad’s mom’s before her. I’ll be wearing that ony my right hand. I don’t have a picture of it, but here’s a picture of my step mom and I getting ready for hers and my dad’s wedding.
And my something blue will be on my shoes! I am going to be making my own strassed shoes, and I am going to do a blue glitter bottom on them, like Miss Fox did. Here’s a picture of her shoes

@Ms.GoodEarth: Thanks! I don’t always feel beautiful, but I’m glad to hear I pulled it off for one day at least! My hubby picked out the wedding bands, he did a great job! 🙂

My something old, borrowed and blue are all the same – an embroidered handkerchief that my grandma, mom, aunt and sister all carried at their weddings. Hopefully that counts! Everything else is new.
