@HonoraryNerd:  Darling Husband uses Mason jars for canning as he always has and as his mother did before him.

Drinking out of them isn’t something I’d do, regardless of the trend. They are CANNING JARS PEOPLE!!!!

haha–can’t wait until this stupid trend is over.

Yeah, I guess I never found them to be ” uncomfortable” to drink out of because we grew up using them for various things ( including drinking out of). Interesting observation, though! It is kind of funny to me that it is a trend now, and luckily for a lot of people I know ( myself included) who used them in their wedding, they didn’t have to go buy/rent or scavenge any– all they had to do was open the cabinet door haha

I wouldn’t say I grew up around them lol…but we lived on a ranch and my guardian was into canning.  And I loved collecting jars and bottles of any kind to store beads and crafts in.  I have a handful leftover from when I was younger but they’ve always held colored pencils, crayons, sharpies, paper clips etc.  I have never once used a mason jar to drink from.  🙂

I find them uncomfortable to drink out of, too. The first time I saw mason jars used as cups was back when I was in college years ago (8? 9 years?). I thought my college buddy was so broke he had to use his spaghetti sauce jars as cups, but he said he was just “recycling” what he had. The next time I saw them in use was when I joined Pintrest this year.

I hate drinking out of them. They’re uncomfortable and I just don’t like them!

My SO and I just tossed all of our glassware (except wine glasses) yesterday and replaced with mason jars. My SOs ideas 😉 They are more comfortable to hold imo and so versatile.
