Hi ladies. I found my something blue and well my borrowed and old might be the same thing. My mom died 2 years ago. My grandma gave me a great idea to cut a piece off of my moms wedding dress and pin it under my dress so she will be with me. Can i consider this my borrowed and old??

Personally, I think that they four somethings need to be different things, but I know other people have different opinions on that. Do what feels right for you.

Of course you can equinegirl, if that works for you! I think that’s a sweet way to pay tribute to your mom.

I wouldn’t consider it borrowed unless you give it back to your grandma. But I think it’ll definitly work for something old.

I think your something borrowed should be something you give back, but if you want it to be your blue and your old, that would work!

I vote for old and blue, but borrowed has to be something you give back.

I could be in the minority but I would think that her dress would be a great way to multitask the old, borrowed and something blue. I think your mother would be touched and will be there to watch over you. You’re borrowing a piece of her dress, not the whole dress so yeah I think it could be the borrowed, but I’m not a tradtional girl either 🙂
Just my 2cents.

I have a set of pearls given to my by my Dad after my Mom passed away. I am loaning them to my daughter for her wedding in May. She will wrap her bouquet with them. (I have to admit, I’m a little nervous, but I have faith they will hold up). The pearls will be her ‘something old and something borrowed.’ Her dress is her ‘something new.’ A beautiful blue topaz necklace and earrings will be her ‘something blue.’ I’m very excited for her. Then when she gives the pearls back to me, I plan to wear them for my wedding in October!
