Old/borrowed = jewelery from my grandma that my mom wore on her wedding day.

Blue = my shoes

New = my dress.

Extra borrowed- I had my FSIL’s veil but didn’t end up wearing it.

Old = Vintage Chanel bag that I always use for dressy occasions.

I think traditionally/what I’ve heard is that someone is supposed to give these items to you, but I got them all myself.

Old – It wasn’t super old, but I wore a bracelet that my grandmother had given to me shortly before she passed.

New – My dress.

Borrowed – Hose, the knee-length ones. I forgot mine at home, so I borrowed some of my mom’s. Otherwise I guess I wasn’t going to have anything borrowed!

Blue – My garter.

I found out just a month ago that my aunt has this handkerchief that my great-great grandma had carried in her wedding, and had been handed down through most all of the women for their wedding on that side of the family. I didn’t carry it because my aunt said she didn’t even think about it at the time, but it would have been cool to have!

I have organised my old, new and blue, but I’m stuck on something borrowed – presumably I need someone to offer something. Not sure how to organise that!

im wondering,my husbands grandma passed away 16 years ago,and husband dad gave my husband his moms ring to give to me as my wedding ring,since it was given to me it couldnt still be considered something borrowed could it?

i do consider it my something old because its probly anywere from 20 to 30 or more years old,idk,but it looks almost vintage.

I have my moms and grandmothers pearls that I have wrapped together that will be my old.  I am borrowing my aunt’s pearl earrings.  My dress is new.  I am wrapping an old hankie with blue details around my bouquet as my blue.  I was given a six-pence by a guy at one of the gold exchange stores- FH went in to trade his old wedding band for cash because he was tired of having it stuffed in a drawer.  The guy also was a big coin collector and we had so much fun talking that he offered me the six-pence for free and wished us luck on our big day.

I’m getting married on SATURDAY!

Something Old: Locket with my grandparents’ photographs in them (it was my gramma’s and the pictures of from when they started dating)

Something New: My new emerald earrings and pendant

Something Borrowed: Nothing :o(  My Future Mother-In-Law lent me her diamond studs, but they are larger than my emeralds, so I am not going to wear them. No one else had anything I could borrow.

Something Blue: My Fiance and I are big Blue Jays fans, so my garter has a little Blue Jays Button on it.

I have something borrowed now!!! A friend asked me what my “somethings” were so I explained. The next day she turned up with a box of things I might want to borrow! So sweet! So I now have some very cute hair combs 🙂

@Principessa Bunny:  My new is my dress, my blue and old is a hankerchief from my granny. I do not have something borrowed at this time, however, I can borrow something from my mom if I feel that it is necessary. I don’t really believe in the borrowed, blue and penny in your shoe stuff. I had not even thought about it until I saw this post.

New: My attire (dress, veil, etc)

Borrowed: Still waiting for someone to offer to lend me something lol

Blue: My garter has a baby blue ribbon and I was thinking of wearing blue undies lol
