Didn’t do it. Happily married almost 40 years. Neither of my daughters did it, either.

My mom got upset on my wedding day that I wasn’t following this tradition and made a tiny blue bow that she pinned to my crinoline. Now the wedding will last thanks to her xD

Old/Borrowed – grandmother’s pearl necklace

New – Dress, earrings, shoes, etc.

Blue – random blue fabric pinned to dress

Don’t forget that the saying is something old, something new, something borrowed something blue and a sixpence in your shoe… ๐Ÿ™‚

Old – I have a vintage sapphire bracelet that Darling Husband bought for my birthday

New – earrings which were a wedding gift from Darling Husband

Borrowed – necklace from my mum

Blue – shoes but I also had my sapphire bracelet and a good luck charm that has a little blue bow sown into the layers of my skirt

I also did a sixpence in my shoe. My Maid/Matron of Honor also then found a “lucky” penny which went down my bra!

Blue: Shoes.

And I had sixpence in both shoes — one each for my parents’ birth years ๐Ÿ™‚
