So my wedding is coming up in the next few weeks and i’m tryin got gather all of my “somethings”
here’s what I’m thinking so far:
Old: My wedding band and engagment ring belonged to my fiance’s grandmother, gorgeous family heirlooms
New: Fiance just bought me these amazing earrings I had been eyeing for a good while for my birthday yesterday and I’ll wear those for the wedding 🙂
Borrowed: I’ll borrow my cousins necklace that she wore on her wedding day
Blue: I’m thinking of having my a blue shrit that belonged to my grandfather cut into a heart shape and sewn into my dress as a reminder of him since he’s passed or having it turned into a beautiful hankie for me since I know I’m definitely a sap and will shed a few tears.
How about you?? 🙂

Somethnig old – using a piece of my mom’s bridal veil to wrap the bottom of my bouquet
Something new – my dress
Something borrowed – my grandmother is lending me my now deceased grandfather’s ( whom i was extremely close too) dog tags from the Army to wrap around my bouquet. Had he been alive he would’ve walked me down the aisle with my dad.
Something blue – my garters. I have one traditional lace garter and I have a garter with my favorite team’s logo, the New England Patriots and a football charm on it I got from Etsy. Both of these have blue. Our plan is my Patriots garter will be the “toss” garter and we are going to have a mini football on hand and when hubby takes my garter off, he slips it over the football and will then surprise all the dudes and toss not only the garter but the garter on the football. I’m stoked he was into the idea, he hates football, its me who is the football fanatic in our house

New- dress, garter
Borrowed- borrowing a necklace from my best friend
Old- earrings (though not sure if it really qualifies as old since they’re not heirlooms. My family immigrated to the US, so we don’t have anything like that, and same with FI’s family)
Blue- garter, and I’m thinking blue pedicure

Something old: I borrowed a beautiful old blue necklace from my grandma. But I only counted it as old!
Something new: my undergarments 😉
Something borrowed: I borrowed a beautiful hair comb from one of my oldest friends!
Something blue: My mom and grandma took the necklace shopping and found earrings that match it. Which is incredible, that necklace is over 60 years old!
Oh and my garter matched DH’s kilt- ancient Mackenzie Tartan, meaning it was also partly blue.

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
@Pinkmoon: I thought that was going to be me!
I ended up with all 4 about 2 days before the wedding, and not even on purpose:
Old: my stone in my e-ring, it was my mom’s.
New: my dress, veil, earrings, shoes, hair piece- take your pick!
Borrowed: my mom’s diamond bracelet
Blue: my underwear
I did tease my mom that I would borrow a pair of old blue underwear from her just to see the horrified reaction =)
