julesbeeb:  my something old was my stepfather’s great-grandmother’s brooch that she wore on her wedding day.

Something new: I splurged on a bottle of perfume that I had never worn, that DH had never smelled, and that remained totally unopened till the wedding day.

Something borrowed: my mom loaned me the pearl necklace that my grandfather (who had just passed a few months prior) had given her as her wedding gift.

Something blue: I got a blue design painted on my toenails.

My something old is a handkerchief from my grandmother sho had passed away. My something new is pretty much everything lol. My something borrowed and blue is a broach from my best friend that I plan on attaching to my bouquet.

julesbeeb:  I almost did the same thing! I saw the name and thought “hmmm something new and blue!” But ultimately I was boring and kept with the tradition of actually wearing something physically blue. It could be argued that I already had my something blue because my ering is a sapphire, but I wasn’t actually wearing that till the end of the wedding ceremony so… Yep! Toenails!

julesbeeb:  I think so. Even a little bit is still blue. 🙂

Old: a locket that belonged to my great-grandmother, with a picture of her mother

New: most everything else – dress, shoes, veil, jewelry

Borrowed: two hankies from my mother-in-law that had belonged to her mom and a hankie borrowed from my sister-in-law

Blue: 10-yards of tulle sewn into my dress instead of wearing another layer and having a slip

I haven’t fully decided on everything, but these are my ideas:

Old: Maybe my Grandma’s wedding ring (she passed 2 years ago), if it fits on my right hand

New: Dress, shoes, etc…

Borrowed: Maybe our Card basket (from an aunt and uncle) – can you do that?

Blue: Either shoes or toenail polish

It’s fun to see everyone’s ideas!!

I have a few thoughts:

Blue: My grandma’s blue rhinestone bracelet my grandfather gave her as a wedding present in 1947, perhaps Betsy Johnson’s Something Blue line of shoes (the soles are blue)

Old: See above about grandma’s bracelet, and any other jewelry she left me when she passed away.

Borrowed: No idea.

New: The dress, of course!
