Old: My engagement ring.  It is the ring that my fiance’s father proposed to my fiance’s mother with.

New: My veil

Borrowed: Still undecided – I have considered going pretty basic and borrowing bobby pins or something

Blue: There is a little blue rose sewed onto the underside of my garter

And yes I have a sixpence.  It was only about 60 cents on ebay!

This  is certainly not my tradition & I shouldn’t be bothered but guess what, I want to do it & I’ve been thinking about it for quite sometime now. No one in my family had a wedding or have nice jewellery I can use for something like this but I’m working hard to have this incorporated in my wedding (mostly photos really).

New: Earrings, dress, etc.

Old: don’t have yet

Borrowed: like other posters my designer is borrowing me a petticoat, but I’m not happy with this because I want something that will be nice on the photos.

Blue: don’t have yet. Perhaps I can put some blue rhinestone on my nail, paint toe nails blue. Or if all goes well my man might buy me something blue. I specifically asked for it for my birthday this year.  I guess we’ll see.

Six pence: Don’t have this.

Old: My grandma’s brooch for my bouquet

New: Dress (Because I’m superstitious and don’t believe they should be worn twice)

Borrowed: Nothing yet…

Blue: The laces on the Converse shoes I am wearing!

My aunt did that for her wedding! I was 5 and the flower girl in her wedding- I remember thinking it was really strange when My grandpa took a penny, kissed it, and then put it in her shoe.Later down the road I head the “full” saying and it made sense. I think it’s mostly a UK thing but I say go for it- it’s a wish for fortune and prosperity.

I’ve been thinking about this lately as I have have about 60 days to go!

Old– I have a white bonnet that was given to me when I was born with a little rhyme about cutting it apart and turning it into a hankie on a girls wedding day. I found a similar one here with the poem http://mintbabyhoustonblog.com/2013/07/special-keepsake-gift-the-heirloom-hankie-bonnet/

My mom saved it and has recently cut it apart and handwashed it for me.

New– My earrings

Borrowed– My mother’s pearl drop necklace

Blue– My clutch and my undies are trimmed with baby blue ribbon (I just have to make sure it doesn’t show through)
