Something old:  An 1820 sixpence in my shoe.  (It did double duty as “a silver sixpence in her shoe.”)

Something new:  My shoes, never previously worn.

Something borrowed:  The kiddush cup, owned by another newly married couple and used at their wedding.

Something blue:  We wore matching blue garters.

Something Old: My engagement ring is my grandmother’s setting

Something New: My Maid/Matron of Honor gave me pearl earrings & necklace to wear on my wedding day

Something Borrowed: I had a locket that women for at least 4 generations in my family have used.  I had it weaved into my bouquet.  It was borrowed because I passed it onto the next engaged family member after the wedding.

Something Blue: My aunt did my alterations and as part of my bustle, attached a blue button to my dress (on the underside where no one would see it).

Something new: my dress and earrings

Something old: the pearl necklace my parents gave me when I turned 18

Something borrowed: I didn’t figure this out until right before the ceremony! I ended up swapping out my pearl bracelet for my friend’s because the pearl anklet from my MOH’s mom ended up being too small!

Something blue: my Dallas Cowboys garter, for Darling Husband 🙂

Something old:  Several antique beads and crystals that belonged to my grandmother will be on my veil/dress

Something new:  My jewelry and shoes

Something borrowed:  Hopefully i’ll be using fabric and lace from my mom’s dress for parts of mine.

Something blue:  A piece of my grandmother’s blue lace will be somewhere on my dress or my bouquet.  My nana was a seamstress and made amazing dresses in her day.

Oh, yeah, my wedding ring was also “something old”; NotFroofy inherited it from her grandmother.  I wasn’t counting that, only because I wasn’t wearing it at the beginning of the ceremony.

Old: Sorta fuzzy on this one. Probably pearl jewelry (they’re to die for, whether fake or real. I have a faux pearl necklace from my HS vocal ensemble outfit that I would totally wear at my wedding).

New: Dress and/or shoes.

Borrowed: Sister’s veil, grandfather’s Emmaus cross for bouquet.

Blue: Lace from my grandmother’s second wedding dress for bouquet.

ETA: …I’m definitely not married. Or engaged. Whoops!

Something old: My great aunt’s lace handkerchief (she passed away a few years ago)

Something new: My dress?  Not entirely sure what will be ‘the one’ new thing

Something borrowed: The horseshoe my mother carried in her bouquet for her wedding.  It’s an old Scottish custom to carry a horseshoe on your wedding day.  It is ‘borrowed’ because my sister will carry it if she ever marries.

Someting blue: I think Fiance might actually be wearing this for me.  My father had a sapphire ring that my sister inherited when he died.  If it fits on any of FI’s fingers, he is going to wear it in honor of my father.
