Something old, something new…. something to distract us from feeling blue

I had a new veil, blue shoes, wore a vintage dress, and I borrowed a charm from a friend. I found a sixpence in a pudding kit and stuck it down with double-sided tape inside my shoe.

All of my dress and personal items will be new. I will be inheriting my grandmothers 7 stone ring as my old, my something borrowed will be stained glass flowers in my bouquet that my grandmother used in her wedding that her mom made for her. I’ll also have blue silk ribbon to wrap my bouquet as my blue, my bridesmaids will also be wearing blue, so they’ll count as well 😉

These flowers are very similar to the ones I’ll use.

Assuming we’ll be able to have our wedding in September :/…

Something old: I’m pinning two of my grandmother’s lockets to a ribbon on my bouquet, and putting pictures of my grandparents and my fiancé’s grandfather who are no longer with us in them

Something new: My dress

Something borrowed: My mother’s pearl earrings and diamond/pearl bracelet

Something blue: My fiancé is giving me a sapphire right hand ring for my wedding present since our wedding is in September- he asked me to help him pick it out already (can you tell we don’t do surprises? Haha)

I’m using the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue rhyme instead.

Old – a pearl necklace passed down from my great grandmother

New – my wedding dress

Borrowed – my mom’s veil

Blue – a hairpiece from my mother in law, and my wedding day jewelery, including my engagement ring and wedding band

Something old – my Australian Sapphire RHR that i wear daily (it was passed down from my great grandmother).

Something new – my earrings, which I had made for the wedding.

Something borrowed – my mum’s natural pearl necklace which she wore for her own wedding.

Something Blue – I haven’t decided yet, I will probably paint my toenails haha!

I will also ask my partner’s grandma if she has a sixpence – I have a sneaking suspicion she will.
