Yesterday I was talking to a friend who is getting married before I am and she was talking about everything she is having, (top of the line everything) and it sounds all good and everything. After talking about what we were both having for our weddings and I admitted I am slightly jealous because her budget is double of mine but I realized it is the not the wedding that really counts it is the marriage that counts. It can rain or whatever, but it won’t matter because the person that you are marrying won’t care if you are in holey jeans or a $1000 dress that person just wants you. So please everyone try to remember the wedding will only last one day but the marriage will last a lifetime.
Okay so that was my little piece and I am done preaching now!

Love it! Thanks for posting that 🙂 Planning does get a little overwhelming, especially when your friends have bigger allowances to spend on the wedding… but you are exactly right, it’s 1 day and it’s the marriage that counts 🙂

We’re really fortunate that we can spend what we need to spend on our daughter’s wedding- she is our only daughter. She’d just as soon elope though- so everything is relative. But I can see how excited she is when we talk about how things are progressing. I am hoping for a memorable local occasion that she will carry in her heart, and you can’t buy that- you build it from the time you bring them home from the hospital. Grammas, aunts, ne’er-do-well high school friends, ex-boyfriend’s parents, the folks who babysat for you when you were 2 1/2. Teachers who teach with you and love you because you are 24 and can kick butt in a high school class. Friends who snowboarded with you and will read at the wedding. Aunts who will grab their spouses when R-E-S-P-E-C-T is played by the DJ. Church friends who want to see the spectacle. Girlfriends who will take notes on what is done. And Mom’s and Dad’s that go back to their rooms and shed tears of joy for the beginning of a joined life of possibility. Sometimes- life is really… very… good.
