Weddings ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve always been really organized and loved planning things, and after we planned our own wedding, I turned planning into a business, and I adore it. It seriously never feels like work. I didn’t find my passion until last year, when I was 26 years old. It takes time, sometimes!

I think being a great wife and eventually awesome mom would be my passions. Sometimes it’s hard to find a passion I think…I like a bunch of different things and I think it’s ok to not have a distinct passion.

My passion is really a couple of political issues. When I’m not planning a wedding, I am usually very engaged politically.

I’m 27 and am still trying to figure out my career and passions, so you’re not alone, don’t worry!  I’m passionate about helping people and making people (especially downtrodden folks) feel important and good about themselves… but I’m not quite sure how to turn that into a career just yet!  I’ve always said that I wished I could have majored in school in “helping people,” but unfortunately they didn’t have a bachelor’s OR a master’s degree in that… darn it! Wink  So, I’m still trying to work this out too.  Cool thread idea!

Mine’s travelling and photography!  I try to take 1-2 major trips a year and want to get as many in before we start having kids!  With photography, I’ve made a goal to focus more on portrait work this year (I’ve shot a few engagement sessions, maternity photos, and a wedding this year for friends!).  But these passions come second to my career…

My passion is teaching, specifically teaching people who previously thought themselves incapable of learning. I work in adult education, usually English classes but sometimes GED classes. I think the majority of my work is helping my students to see that they are bright and they are completely capable of learning. With some care, attention, creativity and ego-boosting, my students do learn. The best moments are when they start to realize everything everyone said about them and everything they believed about themselves was wrong.

Ahh, I love loooooove teaching. I’m 25 now and started teaching adults when I was 22 and I realize I am incredibly lucky to have found my passion at such a young age.

@Ryansgirl: So glad to know it’s not just me who wishes that major existed!  I’m actively trying to figure the “career thing” out these days, and it’s really very hard!  I’m drawn towards the elderly and the homeless, so I think I’m going to start volunteering (easier said than done in Boston, however — too many students to suck up the volunteering spots!) at a homeless shelter to see if that might be a good fit.  I’ve thought a lot about social work, but I hear such horror stories of burnt out social workers due to the stressful nature of the work.  Did that hold you back at all when you considered social work?

I am passionate about learning (I am a PhD student) and teaching (I teach anatomy at the university level).

I am also passionate about animals and so when I have more time and money I am going to dedicate more time to my local humane society!
