So I ordered my dress in December. I wasn’t sure what size I would be. I wear about a size 14 in pants but often have to buy big enough to fit my thighs and then have the waist taken in. I usually wear a medium to large top. I wear a 34 G bra.
The sample was a size 10 and I had to be clamped into it. When they took my measurements the bottom didn’t matter because it’s a full skirt, so the biggest measurement was the bust which put me at an 8. I knew I had to tack the neckline to make it less low cut, so I thought I might need to go up, but they said the waist measurement would be too far off, so i ordered the 8.
I kind of freaked out when I got home and actually wrote a post asking bees if I should call the salon and order a size bigger. They said no, especially since I was measured with a padded bra.
So I stuck with the 8.
And gained a little weight.
Decided not to think about it.
Today I picked up my dress. And it fit LIKE A FREAKIN’ GLOVE!!! Seriously. I don’t know how it happened but it all worked out! So, all I need from alterations is to tack the neckline and cut off the train. So i should be under budget for alterations!
SO to all you bees out there who are stressing about your fit – take a deep breath and relax. There’s nothing to do until it comes in, and then you just have to make it work. But sometimes it all works out for you!!!
