I LOVE this song.  I wanted it SO bad for my wedding, this song came out right as I was getting divorced and it gave me hope that one day I would meet the one.  My husband hates country though AND his sister used this for her walk down the aisle song a year before us, so I didn’t use it.  I think it’s the PERFECT song for an encore wedding.

I absolutely love it, I think it’s more personal when you choose a song you love. We’re using “New Slang” by The Shins, mostly due to the sound of it, more than lyrical quality. But songs with amazing lyrics (like yours) really set the mood :o)

I plan on walking down the aisle to “At Last” by Etta James, we have been together for 10 years so it’s the perfect song for us.

I just got back a week ago from our destination wedding in Jamaica… I DANCED out and down the “aisle” to SAY HEY I Love You by Michael Franti/Spearhead.  It was the perfect fun upbeat song for us.  My groom met me with 1/3 of the way to go, and we went the rest of the way to the beach together.   Ouf first dance was to Kenny Chesney’s No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem which we choreagraphed (sort of) it was cheezy and dorky and adorable, with so much laughter!!!  Enjoy and do what you want, don’t feel pressured to choose something for someone else!

That’s such a beautiful song… I love Rascal Flatts!!

I’m walking down the aisle to “Fix You” by Coldplay. But I have yet to find songs that I want to use for my girls and for the guys/parents. It’s tough!

Okay – I’m really going to put myself out on a limb here.

After the last post about this I have done some searching and – and I’m not a crazy 80’s fan or anything – but I have always felt this song was very sweet.

I’m thinking about having the pianist play sweet Canon in D as everyone walks out to their seats/positions. Then, before my dad and I walk out we are going to have the pianist finish up and the most amazing guitar rift is going to start – to sweet child of mine by guns and roses. We are essentially getting married in a church on the grounds of rock and roll mecca and I love shocking people. Plus the lyrics are some of the sweetest out there.

@parlx- Yes!! Vitamin String Quartet has AMAZING instrumental versions of all of the hits. I’m tempted to use some of their songs for our wedding!!! “Chasing Cars” by them is beautiful. So is “Dare You To Move”.

Thank you so much for your suggestion, doll! Can’t wait to listen to it <3

I’m thinking of “Grow Old Along with Me” written by John Lennon but sung my Mary Chapin Carpenter (or my daughter). I also love, love, love At Last, and have thought for years about “Come Rain or Come Shine”. Such sappy favorites I have…

I am using “I knew I loved you before I met you”  by Savage Garden because he and I met online and developed a very strong friendship and love for one another before we ever laid eyes on each another, So it is a special song for us, I had been searching for songs for awhile and the song came on which we had heard a million times and it never clicked till then that it was perfect for us. We have now been together as a couple for 3 years and it is great.

my best friend had a piano & cello player play an acoustic arrangement of coldplay’s “viva la vida” and taylor swift’s “love story.” it was incredible! i think youtube has some video/sound samples of the arrangement.

Mermaideve – I’m using that same song to walk down the aisle to.  I think it’s perfect for us and it says everything I want to say to my FH.  I just can’t decide if I like it better performed by John Lennon or Mary Chapin Carpenter.  Decisions, decsions.
