well the title covers it pretty well, we’re trying to think of ideas for the music for our wedding. It’s a civil ceremony, and the day is quite tropical in theme (but in the UK) – we have a steel band in the afternoon, lots of punchy colours and Caribbean caterers.
our first dance is going to be Jack Johnson – banana pancakes (we both LOVE jack and banana pancakes are my favourite and the first breakfast my fiancé ever made me)
we need ideas for:
1) walking down the aisle
2) a ‘sing along’ (in place of hymns – needs to be well known)
3) background music during signing of the registrar etc.
i was thinking of reggae – Bob Marley perhaps, but has anyone got any bright ideas? Also my fiancé lsat name is Swan, I was trying to think of any songs that had mention of Swans in them!!
look forward to seeing the suggestions!

When we exited the ceremony, we had the vitamin string quartet ‘s version of “changes in latitude” playing. (Jimmy Buffett )

For our jamaican wedding, I walked down the aisle to “all my life” by marica griffith (she was a back up singer for bob marley so very fitting). And for our first dance we used bob marley “is this love”.

- Wedding: Hawksnest Cove Beach St John USVI
We had a steel pan drummer for our wedding and we used our favorite songs played and they sounded amazing. I chose real love by Regina Spektor for the processional, Ben Folds the luckiest and the way I am for the recessional which everyone sang to. I don’t know if I’m allowed to post my YouTube video so if you want to hear how these songs (or familiar songs) sound on steel pan drum) PM me. The video is pretty short but you can hear all the songs.

Try listening to Pandora. I like the laid back beach music station. You can also create other stations that fit your theme.
