So, i need some opinions on my song choices for the ceremony… The family members are being escorted out by groomsmen to the classic “The Wedding Song” i think in a piano/violin version… then my bridesmaids will be walking down the aisle to Coldplay’s “Sparks”. Not sure if anyone is familiar with that song, it was from the wedding crashers soundtrack. It was my fiance’s choice because he loves that song… then i am walking down to Canon in D violin/piano version. Does the coldplay song stick out too much sandwhiched in between two classic instrumentals? or does it seem fine?
Also, the song that will be played when they announce us husband and wife and we walk back up the aisle will be “True” by Spandau Ballet. One of our favorite movies is the wedding singer.. My mom says this is cheesy but i wanted to know what you guys thought?

If you think it might stick out too much, you can do an instrumental version like this:
I personally love love LOVE this song. Great choice!

Hi! Congrats first of all 🙂
People really have strong opinions on music for weddings but personally, I like it when couples choose a song that they dig and hey, you’re also adding a few classics in there too. I was at a wedding recently where the couple walked down the aisle to Beyonce’s “halo” !!! A little unexpected and I’ve never heard a current pop song at a wedding but I secretly loved that they chose a song they really liked and enjoyed at that moment in time. I’d just say so long as it makes you smile go with what you like.
in terms of the song being “sandwiched” I’d just make sure the transitions are nice between the songs. Your entrance to Canon is a definite moment so I think people will be fine with the song changing for you.
And the wedding singer is a great movie 🙂

I love Coldplay! Do the song! All of my wedding music stands out. We are doing the main titles from our favorite romantic movies. This includes a couple of recent Disney annimated movies, classic movies, and one awesome Chinese movie. I was worried about them clashing too much but with the string quartet playing them it all gets tied together nicely. I’m so excited!!
