I’m trying to find some ideas to use for the song I will walk down the aisle to. I was planning to use The Piano Guys – A Thousand Years but my Fiance said he doesn’t like it. I’d like a song that’s similar, as in no lyrics and a piano or string quartet, etc. I want something that’s not super slow but not super fast either.
@goodgenie: He thought I was going to use “Here comes the bride” so when I told him I wasn’t, he automatically didn’t like the song I wanted to use. He claims it’s because the lyrics to the originial are too “sappy” but I think it could have been any song and he would have been upset…simply because it wasn’t what he originally thought I was going to use (traditional bridal march)
I’ve heard VSQ’s rendition of “Wonderful Tonight” and I love that song but I still want some more opinions 🙂
We walked in to Canon in D, which is very traditional but still not the wedding march. Maybe that would be a good compromise?
If you want something more contemporary, I was at a wedding this weekend where the bride entered to Bless the Broken Road (she had a vocalist, but you could use an instrumental version). There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
I haven’t decided which song yet, but I’m going to be using a song from the Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding’s cd. It has instrumental versions of classic songs like ‘So This Is Love’ and ‘Bella Notte.’ But, then again, we’re purchasing the entire cd and playing the songs during the meal as well.
