Congrats…I have no suggestions because I’m from the east coast too!  But I just wanted to share that were going there to for my BFF bachelorette party in Jan and I can’t wait!  I know your wedding will be amazing no matter what vendor you go with!!

I’m from the West Coast (SF Bay Area so not far from Sonoma) and getting married in NY! Funny.

I am also getting married in Sonoma at a winery.  Which one are you going with?  We are using Wine Valley Catering for food.  Lisa is amazing.

I’m in a similar boat.  We live in Phoenix but will be getting married in the Sonoma Valley next July.  My fiance and I made a trip out there last month to decide on a venue.  (We eventually chose Landmark Vineyards.)  Each of the 10+ venues we visited provided us with a recommended vendor list so that’s primarily what I’ve been using to find local vendors.  For each vendor I plan on contacting, I research their reviews on yelp.com, weddingwire.com, and projectwedding.com.  I was also fortunate enough to find a bride on this site who got married at the same venue as I did and she provided me with some great leads.  I’m sure all of this would be much easier with a wedding coordinator, but I just can’t afford one so the internet it is.  Anyway, if you want some of the preferred vendor lists from the wineries, send me a note and I’ll pass them along.

I realize this is a bit late – but thought I would comment.  My wedding planner – Jackie Jones Wilson – does Wine Country Elopements.  She is fantastic.  I am using her normal planning services as I am local in Sonoma County, but she could be a great resource for you.  Good luck!

Evans Transportation runs shuttles to/from SFO to the resorts in Napa- not sure if they run to Sonoma as well, but if not perhaps they can recommend another service?  Your main hotel in Sonoma might have a destination services department that can help with arranging transportation to/from BR Cohn and the hotels.  There’s also a company called California Wine Tours that does charter buses.  They had the lowest prices when I was researching buses to take my guests from the hotel to the venue, but in the end our resort matched the price and it was easier to have them handle it.

Not sure if you’ve found a caterer yet, but we used The Girl & the Fig Caters – they have 2 restaurants in Sonoma and the food was amazing and they were incredibly easy to work with. 

I’m pretty picky since I’m a producer by trade – I have seriously high expectations of organization and service and also pretty thoroughly researched different options for both caterers and coordinators – I think it depends what your needs really are.  PM me if you want more info.

I love BR Cohn!!  So beautiful.  I would have chosen it as our venue if our budget was a little bit bigger.

 

I found a very affordable day-of coordinator (www.vadevie-events.com).  I can’t vouch for her work yet because my wedding is in July, but she’s been very professional and helpful so far.  Plus she adapted the hours included in her $800 day-of package down a bit to fit my budget.
