It seems like a lot of us military wives-to-be are taking advantage of the Christmas holiday for getting married! I don’t know much about the military, but I’m learning as we go…if you need anything, you can pm me πŸ™‚

Army fiance here. Congratulations on your engagement! I’ve been with my fiance since before he entered basic (an unbelievable 4 years ago). Feel free to message me if you need some support/have any questions. I’m good friends with a lot of the wives so I can always forward any questions that I can’t answer πŸ™‚

Haha I’m getting married this Saturday when my fiance unexpectedly returns home from deployment temporarily. We’re dual military navy, so I probably can’t help with any Air Force questions. But I’m always here for support πŸ˜€

Hey there!! I can totally relate. My fiance has been in the military for about seven years now. We’ve been together since high school and we’re both almost 25, so if you need any advice or someone to talk to, I am all ears! James and I have done the separation for months on end…Even a tour in Iraq. I just recently moved back in with my parents while he’s training all over the country (he’s finishing up the pipeline for pararescue) so I can totally relate to any situation the military may put you through. Being a military wife is definitely a different way of life. Not everyone can handle it, but if you and your man make the effort to spend as much time together when you’re both in the same place and Skype while you’re apart, you will do just fine. You two will have a different kind of bond that I feel like only military couples have. Good luck with everything!! And again, if you ever need to vent, talk, or whatever, us military girls are here for ya πŸ™‚

Hey everyone!

My fiance is with the navy and just started flight school in Pensacola. I’m currently in California. It’s difficult being apart, but I knew it would be and we’ve had to be before. I think the most frustrating part so far is that we don’t know for sure when he’ll be able to get leave for the wedding. We don’t know if he’ll have to fly in the night before (which would suck) or if he can have more time off. It also makes it really difficult to plan any sort of honeymoon, which is a bummer because flights and hotel rooms just go up in price and we’re already behind compared to other engaged couples. We’re getting married on June 22nd. I am so excited (despite all this confusion about leave)!

I’m very seriously dating a Marine-in-training. He has a ring but apparently thinks its too pretty to give away πŸ˜‰ wait wait wait!

 I’m all in for being a military wifey but it definitely seems daunting… I’ll be lurking around with y’all for a while, I bet… I guess I’m just saying hey…

So heeeyyyy!!

my fiance is an officer in the air force πŸ™‚ life is what you make of it, some girls complain and point out the negatives of the AF. Just think, you’ll be able to travel, make new friends, and discover new cities every few years.

My Fiance is in the Army……having a military Fiance is difficult but knowing what he does and the sacrifices he is making it is an honour to be chosen. He is loyal, committed, strong, and loving I cant imagine my life without him.

@MrsRichard:  This! Darling Husband is a Naval Officer and though it can be trying (as with anything) military life is what you make it.

My biggest hint – stay on top of Tricare for anything!  The number of denied claims I have gotten is ridiculous.  You need to be in control – don’t let the insurance company tell you everything.

@futurenavypilotwife:  What part of the pipeline is he in? I can give a little insight as to what’s typical. If he’s in the middle of training you can bank on him getting about a week total. If he’s inbetween it could be anywhere from a week to a month depening on cycles. But like you said, you probably won’t know until about maaaaaybe a month before at most.

@dancingriss:

He just moved to start flight school, but I guess they are waiting on funding to get started with the 2 week online component. Every Tuesday when he reports, they’ll tell him whether or not he will be starting the following Monday. So, it’s the waiting game for now. He seems to think that he’ll be able to get about a week too.
