So I just started having a bridezilla moment, and decided I’d ‘talk’ it out on here before I go changing things.
As some of you know, I am going to wear a vintage dress that we’re restoring. I started thinking about my actual wedding day (shocking, right?), and started stressing about the dress. It’s all tatted lace, so it’s pretty delicate. It’s also sort of heavy. I also can’t lose any weight, or it won’t fit. IS THIS MY DRESS?!?
Should I look for another dress? Or should I stop being silly and just go with my beauty? I am just worried I’ll rip it, or lose weight and it won’t fit, or it’ll be too hot at my July wedding.
I got distracted at work and started looking at beauties like this and this

the S&M POlly is a fabulous dress, so is MS Ireland – but just think of all the hundreds (thousands maybe) of brides all over that will have that same dress?! (I can say this because I’m a MS bride too :P)
But the vintage one, that’s unique.
The vintage dress is amazing. NO ONE else will have this dress. Stop freaking out, the vintage is the one!

I agree–that vintage dress is GORGEOUS. It’s The One, girl! 🙂

What if you got a reception dress too!! That way you could take it off and not worry about its delicateness. You would still get amazing pictures in a totally unique dress.

I definitely prefer the vintage dress over the MS dresses.

I think you should go with the vintage. If you’re really worried about it holding up during the reception, you could get a 2nd dress for that, but I think it would be more fun to go with a shorter party dress if you wanted to go that route 🙂

I absolutely love the Maggie – Polly … but, to be honest, that vintage dress has a “wow” factor that I don’t think compares to any of the other dresses you posted.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a firm believer that you should be comfortale (if not “semi” comfortable) on your wedding day. I don’t think any girl can truly enjoy herself if she’s dying of heat in the dress, its too heavy, or she’s not happy with it.
Definitely something to keep in mind. But, if you don’t think all that will really be an issue (and I mean, dig deep girl; you KNOW if thats going to be an issue or if you’re just psyching yourself out). But, if you don’t think so … then that vintage dress is definitely the one. 🙂

Thanks ladies 🙂
I had to take a deep breath and stop myself from calling my mom and telling her no more vintage dress. I really do LOVE IT, and it is the ‘one’ but I do love the idea of doing a reception dress. That way I can take those amazing photos, but also dance the night away in this or this
This is why i love the Bee!

I would trade a MS dress for that vintage beauty you’ve got. It’s beautiful. But, that’s just my personal opinion.

Keep the vintage! It’s so beautiful and, like one of the other posters said, so unique!

I am chiming in late, but I just HAD to comment when I checked out your vintage dress.
WOW. Just wow. That dress took my breath away, I’d give my right arm to A) find a dress that old with that much lace and B) be able to actually fit into it!!!
