Ok ladies, I am currently freaking out a bit. This month is TTC cycle 1. I used the Wondfo’s to track my ovulation and got positives on CDs 16 and 17…we DTD a whoooole bunch right before then and the day of…by 8dpo I began continuously cramping, had a entire day straight of heartburn, was feeling lightheaded every time I stood up and was/am really tired. I was convinced I was KU. Now I’m 13dpo/CD 30 and normally have a 26-28 day cycle (irregular sometimes but rarely). I’ve only been getting BFNs. I was/am so sure I’m pregnant cause I never cramp before AF, only maybe a couple hours – not 5 whole days. Well this morning I began spotting (can’t tell if it’s AF? Still light?). It’s light but it’s there. My question is…could I still potentially be pregnant and am just randomly spotting, and just not have gotten a BFP yet? Or does this totally just sound like AF arrived? i can’t tell and I’m freaking out. We’re both 32 and want kids really badly…I hope I didn’t just “imagine” all those symptoms in the whole past week…
Sorry for rambling but boy this is so frustrating! I have enormous respect for you Bees who have been trying for a long time! :/ Any support/advice/stories are welcome…

So sorry for the stress you are having, it sucks so much! I wouldn’t say you aren’t KU yet..only when AF really shows. You are still in it! Good luck!

If you got your positive on CD16-17 then you probably O’ed around 17 or 18 of your cycle. How long are your LP’s? If you are now at 13dpo then i am assuming you have a short LP? There is a difference between spotting and light period. It seems like this “light” one that you are having could be AF and not just spotting.
We all do symptom spotting. I dont think you are alone on this one. i would suggest you wait a couple of days and try to test again with a FRER, if it is still negative and AF is not here then go for a bloodwork.
Hopefully you get your answer soon GL and FX :)))

Thanks! Yeah, I think in a couple more days and I’ll have a definite answer…but it’s so hard! it’s like, for years and years we made sure to NOT get pregant, and now it feels like it’ll never happen. :/ I need to practice patience – never been good at that!

Was your first month of TTC also your first month off of birth control?

@DaisyBelle: Symptom spotting is so hard not to do! Heck, I convinced myself multiple times that I was KU while I was still on the pill because I was symptom spotting. It’s okay to do it and MrsR4Ever is right in saying that you are not alone there. What sucks is many of our symptoms are caused by elevated progesterone after we O and may not always mean we are KU. It’s a huge bummer.

@DaisyBelle: Great advice given from PP’s. Remember just because you get a positive OPK does NOT mean you actually ovulated. The only way to have a better idea when you actually O’ed is to temp and chart. Also it can take up to 3 days after your + OPK to O. Good luck!
Also. Just as someone who has been trying for 11 cycles. Try to keep your head up and think more positively saying it will never happen, is not going to make this process any easier. This is your FIRST month TTC.

Gosh ladies, thanks for the advice…
No I never was on BC, we’ve used condoms only for the last 7 years or so. This was the first official month of trying after I weaned off some medications.
Thank you RoyalLime…11 cycles! Wow! I wish you all the luck in the world that it happens this month for you! That’s some serious dedication there 😉
I suppose I’ll look into charting/temping in the next cycle or two if it doesn’t just happen naturally…I was just hoping to not have to go that route. I am such an anal/anxious person that I think the more info I have the crazier I’ll get, as in, I won’t be able to sleep well knowing that I have to check my temp in the AM. And I totally get what you’re saying RoyalLime – normally I’m a pessimist – I joke that it keeps my expectations low in general…I should really try to apply that attitude to all this TTC stuff.
Thanks for the support again ladies 🙂

@DaisyBelle: Still, weening off of other medication could have caused changes in your hormone balances which could contribute to changes in PMS symptoms. Cramping, fatigue, heartburn and light headedness could also be a sign of something else (dehydration, stomach bug that you don’t even realize is a bug, etc) Or you could be pregnant and just don’t know it yet 😉
I totally understand what you’re saying about being anal/anxious and not wanting to temp/chart. I didn’t either. It took me a few cycles to calm myself and stop symptom spotting. Everytime I feel something “different” now, I just tell myself it’s just part of my cycle and anticipate AF. I don’t even keep tests of any kind (OPK, or HPTs) in the house. Too stressful! Good luck to you and I hope it doesn’t take you long to get your BFP!
