My sister just pulled me aside and I could tell she needed to say something really important.
“Oh my GOD,” she said, smiling. “Are you pregnant?! Because you totally look pregnant. Your butt is huge!”
Gotta love sisters.
She has no idea that we’re actually TTC right now and that I wish I was pregnant… and that I’ve been trying to ignore my lovely round belly and expanding ass because it makes me feel pregnant when I’m not. And because, well… yeah, my ass and my pooch are bountiful. But thanks, sis, for letting me know that everyone notices too. At least my boobs are playing along, and you know what~ I feel fertile damnnit. Feminine, soft, plump, and fertile.
Sigh.
15 days late last cycle, 6 HPT’s later… my curvier curves had me convinced I’d get that BFP thistime.
Please play nice this cycle, body.

Aww! That sucks!!! Why does that sound like something my sister would say!?!
On a side note– there are actually a lot of studies available that say moderate regular exercise can increase fertility. Maybe you can catch 2 birds with 1 net?

Ugh. I know… I hate exercise, but just walking around the neighborhood would be good. Really the thing that bugged me was that I couldn’t say “YES I am!! Yay!”

@jjmomma: Here’s hoping your body cooperates this cycle!
Just keep in mind that when you actually do get pregnant, there will be no shortage of comments on your body.
When I had my daughter, I gained NO weight, and I delivered 40 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight. I left the hospital in pre-pregnancy clothes. People called me selfish for endangering my baby. (She was very closely monitored, and an incredibly healthy little punk. I had extra weight to begin with.)
Now that I’m pregnant for a second time, I am, at 14 weeks, 3lbs above my lowest weight after delivering my daughter. I’ve been (again) very careful about what I eat, and managing my weight, and I’m being told by the same people that I’m selfish and weak willed for being SO FAT. That I’m going to have an obese baby because I’ve gained so much weight.
Seriously. 3 lbs. That’s like a big hamburger.
Basically, unless someone is in danger, weight comments are always pretty useless. And I’m sorry that in your instance, they were hurtful on both levels ๐

@jjmomma: Argh! I’m wishing you so much luck this month!! I hear you about wanting to be able to say “yes”. I didn’t drink at a party last weekend and kept getting the side-eye and I was dying to be like “THAT’S RIGHT, I’M KNOCKED UP!” but alas, I just said I was driving (which was true)…sigh. ๐
@Quietserenity: It sounds like you have some people in your life who don’t have a filter, geez!

@jjmomma: hey, at least she pulled you aside. my family would and do say it outloud in front of everyone just to embrass me. If you are only worried about 15lbs, then I am sure you are gorgeous and look amazing ๐ Most people want/need to loose 30+. now get off the computer and go get pregnant LOL Good luck gal!

@jjmomma: Ugh, that’s horrible. I know that my family checks me out all the time, too. Thankfully, up until this point, they haven’t said anything (to my face).
@Quietserenity: That’s horrible. I don’t know why people think that they have the right to comment on a woman’s weight just because she’s pregnant. I mean, if they said anything while you WEREN’T pregnant, that would be a major taboo. So why is it so different? (Good for you for only gaining 3 pounds – that takes some serious willpower).

@redsmarties: People just think they have the right to comment about a woman’s weight, period. I think it is very rude (although I’ve been lucky enough that usually people don’t comment when I gain weight, they only comment when I lose it)

Oh man, I can’t believe she said that!! And why would your butt have anything to do with being pregnant, ANYWAY?! All of the women in my family have a low perpetual 4 months pregnant looking belly, and now that I am actually pregnant, I’m wondering how many people will actually notice hahaha.

Oh wow! I was just thinking to myself, hmmm… only one person noticed my little story… you guys keep proving me wrong and refusing to let me get down on myself! Thank you all for the good wishes and positive thoughts~ I can’t wait to tell you all when I get that BFP!
She really wasn’t being rude– I think she was hopeful, too! The butt comment, well… that’s how tell we’re pregnant in our family! lol No complaints from the husbands, either. ๐
