Every morning as my husband tries to get out of bed, I sleepily say, “We should stay home today.” It’s part of our routine. Normally he answers with something like, “But the kids are testing today” or an excuse of equal value.
But we actually talked about it for real this morning and we agreed to take Friday off of work this week! I’m so excited. We really need a day together. We need date time.
I’m thinking we’ll sleep in, make waffles and bacon for brunch, then go bowling or to the Mall of America (if I can talk him into it). Then we could use the giftcard to the Olive Garden for lunch or dinner.
What would you do / where would you go if you and your Darling Husband took the day off together?

That sounds awesome!
We’d probably sleep in as well, go to breakfast at our favorite breakfast joint, probably go wander Pier One or other home decor places (we’re going to buy a home in the fall so we’re constantly talking about what we’ll put in it), probably wander a bookstore as well, since that’s something we’ve been doing a lot lately, maybe get a hot apple cider and take a drive through our favorite neighborhoods, and then order take out and watch Star Trek.

@howtobeawife: Aww that is really sweet!!! I hope the day is very relaxing for you both.
When my Darling Husband takes a day off I try to do the same by calling in sick. *cough, cough*
It doesn’t happen frequently but I figure if he is going to be home I might as well stay home too. We usually try to sleep in, take the dogs for a long walk and grab lunch somewhere. He is always determined to keep me from being productive and actually take a day off.

@6598731ssfse3: How exciting to be buying a house this year! Congrats! And browsing a bookstore is a great idea 🙂
@Treejewel19: Thanks! I really appreciate it. I have been trying to decide if we should make the day all about relaxing or if we should mix in productivity… but I’m leaning towards saving all the productivity for Saturday, lol.
