So, my Fiance and i went to check out the Foxboro Common yesterday in Foxboro MA, as a possible ceremony location for our *new* wedding plans. The common has a lot of sentimental value to me, but when we got there, we saw signs everywhere we looked! turn to the left, sandwich shop, hardware store, liquor store. Turn to the right, highway signs, bank, barber shop. It seriously felt like we would be getting hitched on a street corner! So, we drove down the street a few miles to Cocassett River Park, or what once was CRP… we hopped the fence *gasp* only to find that the park appeared to have been shut down just moments after my last visit in 1988. Oh well… maybe we just keep looking. EXCEPT that on the way there, we passed a little camp-type place (found out after, it was previously St. Augustine’s Camp for Boys) that had a little chapel! Chapel Meeting house in foxboro is absolutely the cutest little place I have ever seen! It is red on the outside with a curving paved walkway leading up to it with lamp posts lining the way. It has a second, handicap accessible entrance on the side. inside is all remodeled with hardwood flooring, ceiling fams, fresh paint and updated lighting. there’s even a kitchennette (which we don’t need) and a bathroom! We were able to get all the info we needed from the Parks and Rec dept., and even went inside! We’re sold 🙂 As an added BONUS, on the same road was a farm stand that had buckets of dahlias! I had wanted dahlias for the wedding, but since we were no longer going to be in Narragansett near the dahlia farm i had been advised of, i was ready to go with whatever for flowers. I totally hopped back on the dahlia express as soon as I saw the farm stand, immediately followed by a farmer’s garage full of buckets which were full of dahlias!!!! OMG – next trip to Foxboro is to that farm! AWESOME!
