Ok, so I’m not pregnant yet but I will be soon enough (hopefully) and I really want a girl. I actually want both a girl and a boy but I have a bunch of boy names picked out already.
I just have such a hard time with girl names. My name is Sofie and I LOVE my name. So much so, that I almost want to name my daughter Sofia but I think that might be weird. Some people say I’m vain for liking my own name but hey, it’s just a name…I’m just lucky my parents picked a good one.
Here are some names I like:

@sofiekitty: what about olivia? i always thought that it was similar to your name.
@mypinkshoes: I do really like Olivia…but I know an Olivia so I just keep picturing her and she’s not the most elegant woman lol

In addition to Sofie being your name already, keep in mind that is has been and continues to be ridiculously popular. Your daughter will grow up with countless Sofias and Sophias.
I think Victoria is lovely.

Charlotte and Adrienne are my top 2. Hopefully those qualify as Sophisticated, elegant and classy. 🙂

I love the name Victoria…I also love the name Audrey, but I associate it with Little Shop of Horrors (the musical), and the character of Audrey isn’t the most sophisticated, lol. But it’s still a great name! Alessandra is also super pretty, and a unique twist on Alexandra!

Ava, Emmeline (pronounced “leen”, Hannah, Julia, Olivia, Rose, Sofia/Sophia

Adelind, Evangeline, and Evelyn are three I have on my list of favourites that I think sound elegant.

I love Alessandra as a name. Others could be Emiliana, Clara, Vivienne, Louisa, Marianne, Ada, Grace, Matilda, Nadine.

@mrsSonthebeach: I know, it’s so weird. 30 years ago when I was born, NO ONE was named Sofie or even Sophie or Sofia. Now, I hear moms yelling “Sophie” all the time. I love Victoria too..but my fiace says it’s “too fancy” lol. I’m like “that’s what I’m going for, duh!”
@engleman10513: Yes! I love Charlotte as well! Definitely classy! Adrienne is nice as well but unfortunately I know an Adrienne who is super annoying and she ruined it for me.
@Audrey2_sings: Thanks! See, I associate Audrey with Audrey Hepburn and Audrey Tatou…two very sophisticated women. I like Alessandra too but I don’t know what I’d call her for short because I don’t like Sandra..
@moriah: @GeekChic: I have considered Evangeline as well but it just makes me think of the word “Evangelist” and I don’t want her name to be associated with religion….but it’s a pretty name no doubt.
@aussiebride26: Thanks, I love Vivienne!

I just came up with another name and I don’t even know if it’s a real name but it just came to me and I love it. I told my fiance and he immediately said no. Sigh. The name is Audriella.

@sofiekitty: True, you can’t go wrong with either of those lovely ladies! And I suppose you could use Allie as a nickname for Alessandra…maybe too casual though.

Similar to the sounds I think you might be going for?
Libby (a pretty alternative for Elizabeth nicknames)
Emmy (a cute alternative for Emilie nicknames)

@sofiekitty: I love Audrey and Alessandra. In fact, all of those are lovely names to me except Audrina. That name doesn’t sound classy to me at all- I think of it as a bimbo name. Due to the vapid, one dimensional girl on the Hills with that name, I associate the name Audrina with shallow, materialistic bimbos who speak in a goofy voice, have bad plastic surgery, and live a morally questionable lifestyle. I think most people who had the misfortune of watching that show may have a negative association with that name.

Oh, hey, what about Alaura or Alora? I know a girl with that name, and I’ve always thought it was very pretty and classic, but a little unusual.
@allyouneedislove: Thanks! I really like Gabrielle or Gabriella and also Elle!
@FLBlonde93: I know!! I was hoping Audrina Patridge was a nobody now that the Hills is off the air, and that within a few years, people would just forget she even existed. Sigh. I still like the name though…Can you think of anyting else that ends in “drina” but doesn’t sound trashy?
@moriah: Hmmm I do like both of those! Thanks!
@allyouneedislove: Rosalie is another pretty one..a bit old-ladyish but I like it!
