I love Elodie (could be shortened to Ellie?) and Colette as PP suggested. Also, as soon as someone said Olivia I thought “Twelfth Night,” which led me to Viola, which also made me think of Rosalind, Celia, Reagan, and Juliet.

Also Imogen and Rosemary popped into my head. I agree with PP that if you use Victoria, you’d better come to peace with Vicky as well.

I like my name too, but feel it’s a bit weird to name your daughter the same thing.

I’m a fan of Chloe, Katrina, Valerie, Celeste, & Kelly.

My name is Jacqueline but I go by Jac. In my experience it’s not a very common name.

sofiekitty:  If you decide to name her Alessandra, you could call her Alesse, which you could pronounce as Alice or A-lease! I think its really cute!!!

We named our daughter Victoria…it is my favorite name in the whole world!  🙂  I always knew if I had a little girl, I’d name her Victoria. It’s elegant, classy, beautiful and timeless.   🙂

Not that I’m getting pregnant anytime soon, but I’ve always loved French and Russian names for girls.  It’s going to be hard to choose, either way. Here are some of my favourites:

Anais (French for Anna)

Annoushka

Aurelie

Arielle

Edith

Tatiana

Sasha

Imogen

Cassidy

Eloise

whytneynicole:  Anoushka is very pretty but it’s a nickname, not a name – it’s a diminutive for the name Anna. Sasha is also a nickname that can be used for either Alexander or Alexandra. In Russian, it’s usually a boy’s name… I don’t know any girls named Sasha besides Sasha Obama. There are so many pretty Russian names but I just think it’s best to go with a full name and then to use a nickname, rather than to stick a kid with just a nickname.

This is my exact criteria for baby names, I love sophisticated and fancy sounding names, so far my favorites(which in my opinion are classy) are:

Eleanor(not my name)

Eloise

Audrey

Charlotte

Claire(or Clara)

Margarett

Anastasia(I would pronounce anna-stay-suh)

Alice

Ophelia (I probably wouldn’t use this name but I’ve always liked it)

Amelia/Emilia

Carmella (I’ve never heard of this name before but my boyfriend’s 5yr old cousin is named Carmella, it really suits her and I’ve grown to love it)

eleanormarie:  My daughter’s name is Anastasia.  I like it because it’s not common.  I think it sounds classy and elegant.  She says the teachers at school always tell her she has a pretty name.  We do call her Ana too.
