Representing GDIs here.  I felt like I was one of the few who resisted joining at Elon University.

@KatieBug3017 – I roomed with an AOII my sophomore year and was friendly with a few other of the girls.

Alpha Sigma Alpha here! Ladybug love @Mrs. Dee to Bee!  When we got engaged we did a candle pass.  My Fiance is a GDI, but is an ASA Lavalier.  At the wedding I’m planning on playing our sisterhood song “These Are Days” by 10,000 Maniacs.  We play this at every semiformal and wedding generally and we all stand in a big circle and each pledge class gets a few bars of the song to dance in the middle of the circle.

Alpha Sigma Alpha here too!!  Yay! KellyBee and Mrs. Dee to Bee!  Two of my bridesmaids were in my pledge class and one is a Delta Zeta and my maid of honor is a Pi Phi (I think…oops)!  The other two weren’t greek.  My Fiance was not in a frat.  As for incorporating sorority traditions at the reception, I think it might have been too long to do too much (I graduated in 2005).  There will be some of my sorority sisters at the wedding, so we will probably play some songs that we always rocked out to during college.  We did have a chapter dance to I’m Gonna Be (the 5,000 Miles song), so I might play that.  The dance is super super cheesy though.  But what is a wedding reception without a little cheese?!

Hello Greeks!!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority here!!! My Fiance isn’t greek. We won’t incorporate anything into the ceremony. Many of my line sisters are in the wedding party. At the reception, my sorors will surround me and sing the national hymn, and then we PARTY PARTY!!!

Hi ladies! Just though I’d revive this thread…

I’m a DG, Fiance is a Pike…. we went to a southern school where greek life was intense!

Any others out there?

I went to a private school with only local sororities so I’m guessing there are no other Chi Rho Phis on this board. =)

I will be using some dogwoods (our flower) in arrangements and I don’t plan on having bridesmaids but for my girlfriends who would have been bridesmaids, had I chosen to have any, I’ll give a flower for their hair. For all Chi Rhos it will be a dogwood and for other girls, something else.

My BF lavaliered me post-graduation because he knew I was bummed that I never got to partake in that tradition. I may sew the lavaliers with his letter and mine to the ends of the ribbon on my bouquet.

I never thought of a candle passing at the reception! I may do that! (Although I don’t think I’ll have more than a few girls in attendance. It’s a small shindig. Maybe at my girls’ pre-wedding spa day instead….)

Sigma Kappa girl here!  My Fiance is not greek, but he rolls with it since I still volunteer as an advisor for a couple of chapters in my area. Laughing

We are planning on having a candelight pass at the reception.  I am thinking of replacing the bouquet toss completely with just the candelight pass since a vast majority of the people attending are not single.

Also for those organizations that are Christian-based, it might be a nice touch to include some bible passages that are used in your ritual as a reading in your ceremony (if they don’t sound too obscure).  That way you can still have your organization represented in your ceremony without having everyone else know that what you have selected is actually from ritual.

Was a Delta Gamma – but I QUIT (the horror, I know!)  Fiance was in a co-ed business fraternity which I make fun of relentlessly=)

EDIT: I was also lavaliered by my Phi Kappa Theta college bf – and never gave it back after we broke up.  Oops!

Sigma Kappa!!!!!  I am not incorporating anything sorority to my wedding but a bunch of my sisters will be there.  I graduated 8 years ago and we are still as close as ever- going to each others weddings, rocking out- just like college!
