6 to 8 weeks before hand is a good timeline, make sure you make your RSVP date at least 3 or 4 weeks before your wedding, cuz you will get stragglers and may even have to hunt people down to get their response

I think you could send out the Save-The-Date Cards whenever you want – I sent ours about 8.5 months ahead, just to get it off our to-do list.  As for invites, the general rule is 6-8 weeks ahead of time. I’m aiming to send them at around the 8 week mark, to give some time for responding.
