OK, I’ve had tons of bad experiences with getting a dress. It’s a long story, so I’ll just express my latest issue.
I visited a highly awarded bridal store that does the “tag thing” (where they take out the designer’s tags and replace them with their own). I found a dress off the rack that fit well and looked gorgeous. It was flowy and simple and perfect for my rapdily upcoming beach wedding. I asked who the designer was and they said they couldn’t tell me off hand, they’d have to look it up.
I put some money down on the dress and came home to look it up, by using the style (one shoulder chiffon). I found it. I was almost certain it was a Maggie Sottero Rehearsal Dinner1044 , the shop does carry Maggie’s. I got so excited to realize the train was longer than I had remembered and saw fabulous pictures of the dress.
A few weeks later I went in to pay the bulk of what was left on my dress. This time I got a receipt with their style numbers on it. I had a short visitation with my dress, LOL! Came home and looked online to see if their numbers would help confirm the maker of my dress. It did…
It’s a DaVinci 8384 . I don’t care about price, or anything else. I just keep thinking from trying it on and from the limited photos I find, that the train is not as long, fabulous and shaped differently. I had some idea that it could be from another maker. The whole look alike from two different designers thing is frustrating.
The dress will need no alterations, thank goodness. I won’t have it home until Sept. 1. So there’s no tinkering time. I’m not sure how you guys can help me…I’m just bummed.
