You’ve seen this before I think…it’s 3 feet long and $2000, and still on our registry. It’s a joke, of course πŸ™‚

My answer to the poll was definitely the last choice. My mom looked at my registry and asked if my Fiance had picked out anything, because “it’s just very….you”. Nope, I did it all online and I don’t think he’s even looked at it. Like he cares what kind of dishes I pick! I really don’t mind that he wasn’t involved and I think he preferred it that way.

@indibee: Shark week, too much! And boys might find skipping showers for a week sexy, no?

Fiance is a surfer so sharks fascinate him too πŸ™‚

We went and picked everything together. And did some online too, together. He really wanted to help pick the dishes and silverware and stuff. We both had our own things we wanted that we put on there too. But for us it was stuff for “us” not just me πŸ™‚

I voted for “sat next to me while we looked online” but it was more that I did the entire registry, and then later he glanced at it and let me know if there was anything he wanted to remove/add.

@indibee: The invitation is open! I’ll send you more paperclips for the jet…

We did the same for our registries. It was a long day and I left Fiance in charge of the scanning gun. We had to take a break, sit down and drink water. We just powered through and picked stuff. Then I scrubbed and added online in my pjs at home, yay πŸ™‚

My advice is to go in on your own beforehand and set up the registries with your info. Then when you go to the store together you can get busy scanning. This pre-step will keep FI’s eyes from glazing over too soon, lol!

So, I gotta tell ya…I read the poll options to my SO and told him that I chose the 2nd option “acting like a kid waiting for his mother to stop bra shopping”. Somehow, this line inspired him to begin writing lyrics for a rock and roll song called “Registry” artfully critiquing his experience at Bed Bath and Beyond. By The Way, SO is the lead singer in a band where he writes all the songs. This is the most enthusiastic he has been participating in any sort of “registry” dialogue to date. LOL.

We haven’t gone to register yet, but oh my lord, Fiance is very excited to register for wedding gifts! His current obsession is square plates. He thought we could register at seven places. We’re down to three. We’re going to register at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and then we each will get to pick a store from there. That seemed pretty fair :-). I am glad to have him involved, but sometimes, I secretly wish he wasn’t so I could pick out everything! πŸ™‚

Fiance was as excited to register as I was. And he’s the cook in the house so I let him choose most of the kitchen stuff πŸ˜› It was a great experience as a couple, I can’t imagine not having that.

We registered at Macy’s, BB&B, and William Sonoma. Our situation was a bit different bc we already bought a house, 9 months ago, and have been together for almost 9 years, so we didnt really need the typical gifts that less established couples need, like dishes, pans, and linens.
