So we recently found out my SIL is going to be having a baby! This is some of the best news my Fiance and I have gotten because we cannot wait to be an aunt and uncle. The bad news though is that our wedding is in KS and they are currently living in DC. Her and her hunband are both in our wedding and their due date is exactly two weeks after our wedding! So the big problem here is that obviously she wont be able to fly, but has anyone else had a bridesmaid about ready to pop at their wedding?? And what happens if they can’t make it? My Fiance would be devistated if his only sister (and sibling) wouldnt be able to make it.
Thanks for your help Bees!!

bride2bee21: Well, aside from sadness surrounding missing them, nothing happens if they cannot make it, other than you will be an aunt or uncle soon thereafter 🙂 If THEY choose to attend, whether it be by plane, train or car (and ultimately, it is their choice – with their docs recommendations), then try to be as accommodating as you can to her/their situation. Comfy dress, comfy shoes, maybe schedule a bit of pampering for your girls that weekend, etc. Little things to show your appreciation that she is there!!
Communication between you all will be essential. Certainly, you are supportive, and that is awesome. Letting her know now that you are ‘open’ to whatever she needs is important, whether it be stepping down, or not attending, or whatever!!
Then, maybe down the road, you guys can meet up, and get professional pics taken together of the siblings, in-laws, and your niece/nephew…because they will miss being in the wedding pics!!
