look at strapless dresses and find one you like. most strapless dresses can have sleeves added to them in alterations, or you can use a bolero. Casablanca dresses in particular are known for being able to add nice sleeves, so that would be a good place to start!

I had a strapless dress and wound up with three gorgeous boleros, one more beautiful than the last; wore 1.  All for sale.  PM me if  you’d like to see pix as I haven’t had a chance to post an ad yet! One is all lace, 3/4 sleeves, 1 is satin (couture custom made in Europe) and the other is organza.  All are white — Medium-ish to L (cause I wanted the jacket a bit loose).

I feel ur pain. I too am looking for sleeves. I have found a dress I’m in love with and will be buying tomorrow. It’s strapless for the same reason, so I can use some type of jacket(3/4). I dont want to show my arms….! I’d prefer a see-threw material like chiffon to match my dress with some type of embelishment for a lil coverage. u should do the same. It would be easier to find a jacket or bolero to add on than a dress with sleeves u will like!

Here are a couple of dress patterns from vogue. I’m having the second one made (with some alterations to the style itself). All told, it’s costing me less than 700$ to have it made–and no alterations! Having a dress made can be a lot less than people seem to think–if you find any dress you love (or would love with a few changes), it can’t hurt to take it to a seamstress and see what s/he can do!

Justin Alexander 9552

This is my dress. I modified it to a boat necked 3/4 sleeve for my ceremony and the lace jacket will come off for the reception.

Most of Demetrios dresses come with 3/4 length sleeved jackets. I really didnt care for one at first but my dress came with mine and I am super excited to wear it!

Sophia Tolli has one that “looks like” the Justin (but without the price) and is just as beautiful, but I’ll keep looking for it. Otherwise, there are some LOVELY little jackets, wraps, and boleros out there.
