Hi there :). I am that bride who wants a pink/blush gown for next June. After searching long and wide, I have found two gowns that I like the pink shades in – one of them I’ve seen/tried on in the exact color in person, and the other I’ve seen and tried on in the style, but not the color. I can only see it on line in the shade I want.
Gown #1: By Impressions and I walked in and saw it on a fluke and raced over to it. Its a blush underlay with alcenon lace covering it with crystals (really romantic). I like that it didn’t have the corset back. My plan would be to add a floral one shoulder garland and a gem/satin belt that has blush tulle in the back over the train. Sweetheart the top, and the lace up/criss cross piece on the front of the gown will be taken off also! I would keep the ties on the hip and tie in a bow. The dress is discontinued, but they still had two left at the factory that had been made. One is in my size, so I have to decide very quickly.
Gown #2: By Sottero & Midgley SSM5049. Also beautiful but totally different from #1. Its simple, but the fabric (dupioni silk) and cut (sweetheart neck and a-line) is lovely. And it comes in Cameo Pink. I think the one shoulder floral garland and some tulle to the back of this, in addition to turning the corset back into zip/button up would be added. Very few gowns come in pink that aren’t large ball gown/cinderellaesque-looking. This is the gown I haven’t seen in the color – live.
We all know photos on manufacturer’s web pages aren’t always as well represented than those on real brides. I am wondering if there are any brides out there past / present who have worn Cameo Pink by SOttero Midgley. If so, I’d really appreciate seeing a photo of your gown! I need to make my selection.
I’ve uploaded photos on both and adding a poll. Love to read your opinions! Thanks~

I vote for #2. Even with the ties removed from the front of the first, the structure does not look as good as the Sottero Midgley. The first one looks like it may take a frumpy shape if you modify it.

I’ve seen the S&M in Cameo pink on ebay, and it had real life pics of the pride in it. It really was a lovely colour, and the fit was to die for. You may not like a corset back, but it’s a very economical choice since you’ll likely need fewer alterations due to it’s ability to accomodate multiple sizes.

Thanks girls. I appreciate it.
The first gown is actually a mermaid, so it is more fitting than #2. I think the little model wearing it shows it bunching a little below the lace up part. Its more of a sheath on. But good to note on the fit!!!! Thanks.
The Sottero Midgley does have a nice fit, I agree!
2 votes for the lace and 7 for SM so far…..interesting…

I vote #2 because I have no idea what’s going on with #1. Is that suppose to be a backwards corset?

I have a Maggie Sottero Angelica in ivory over the pink and it is the prettiest tdf color (This is part of a collection of gowns I have made as possibilities for my after wedding date long story LOL) I can snap a picture tonight if you like to see the MS pink for brides – it is amazingly beautiful in person

Yes, the corset threw me off initially, but its easily removed, and the ties look nice on the hip area. Different.
I just worried #2 was a bit plain, been there kind of thing. But the color is nice.
Both kind of what I was after. Thanks girls.
UNixfairy – sure, love to see a photo of your Angelica dress! 🙂 NOt sure what you mean about your wedding date…I sense a good story there..

@ellelm: OK we are local in Vegas but DO NOT want a Vegas wedding – so we are having a lovely afternoon affair at the Four Seasons with High Tea following. So then we are like ummm what do we do that night. Hello we are in Vegas we go out and gamble and have fun. But the smoke in the casinos and drunks bumping into you and gunk on the ground did not mix well with my beautiful dress and shoes. So my Fiance said well you are the ebay queen – find something that is a bargain there that you would wear that if it gets ruined who cares. He was like I want you in full wedding gear, just not YOUR wedding gear
So I started looking for samples on ebay and have amassed well a collection some of which I have sold, some of which I have kept to pick the final dress for my evening in Vegas. I will sell all but 1 and since I am finding them at super ridiculous prices and then going over them with a fine tooth comb I am reselling them for a small profit so it is a hobby (BLUSH OK weird I know)
So do not laugh but here is the list
alfred angelo 1807
maggie sottero zara
jasmine couture T183
christina wu 5479
La Sposa Persia
By The Way I AM NOT SELLING ANY DRESSES ON WB – please do not flag lol

Oh you are too funny! Its true though, you can find great deals on ebay. I just called a salon who is having a $99.00 dress sale!! Sophia Tolli Patricia gown in blush — I wish I wanted it. LOL!
I’d love to see the photo of Angelica, if its in pink! Looks nice. Or any of the others, if they are a similar color. That’s if you are still intersested in selling. You are going to have quite a sale after your wedding!

LOL the Angelica is one I am holding as a possible for that night because it is so unique but will post picture tonight so you can see – it is amazing and love the blush color 🙂

Ok here is the cameo pink color – it has an ivory overlay so it does not look “as” pink but I took pictures of the actual pink and corset straps to show you what the color looks like
with the overlay covering the pink
the actual pink color from the inside of the dress
the whole dress – again yours without the overlay would be pinker
corset ties in the pink
against a stark white dress

Oh that is beautiful!!!! Love it.
Thanks Kristen! 🙂

Anyone who voted for #1, could you give me your reason/feedback? Thank you!!
